Action-Adventure Terminator: Dark Fate

Linda & Arnold? I love them, it's just.. They are maybe just a little too old for all this now. There's a sadness to their characters this time around which is a little infectious. Neither get all that much to chew on beyond their introduction. Arnie is introduced bizarrely late and the film was already sinking by then.
.
Possible hot take:...I'm kinda just over the bring the cast back when they're old thing for sequels. I think it rarely works that well. Blade Runner 2049 was probably the best use of that in film imo. Bridges as Old Flynn in Tron Legacy was pretty good. But most other times it's either mixed or just bad. The actors almost always have lost that spark and who can blame them, it's just aging. I'd rather just leave the characters as they were...or another hot take: maybe just recast

I've definitely hit a wall now. What do we have next up? Jurassic Park, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, I'm over it. Matrix 4 remains an outlier because Keanu is basically ageless and a Wachowski involved promises something bizarre at least.

Watched this today. Wasnt particulary Good. Dani was an awful character. Grace slightly better.

Mostly a bad remake of the first 2 movies (not the first time for this franchise) with some really horrible dialogue. Also making that opening scene probably pissed off quite a few People.

Was fun to see Linda and Arnold again. Arnold made the silly stuff actually funny.

Saw it again yesterday thinking that maybe the first time was so good for me because of the excitement. Plus ive seen it in tje new Dolby experience. But, seeing it again and in regular room was still just enjoyable and I liked it just the same. For me, its a really good movie with strong emotions, just very very downbeat. It was a packed house too surprisingly

I actually really enjoyed this. I was hoping for some deep and thoughtful comments/threads on twitter, but it was all about Dani and Grace shipping. Which is fine, but...

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton were the best parts of this film like I expected but I hope Arnold is done with this franchise now.

I liked Natalia Reyes as Dani but wish her character was used differently than just new female John Connor

After a friend of mine had the displeasure of seeing this film and said he actually considered walking out of early; he confirmed some of the leaks I had read about helping me decide to skip out on this film.
Its a shame, I had high hopes for this film.
But I guess that's what happens when you basically slap the fans of the series in the face and throw out everything that has been established.
I'm sure some people will like the new direction and characters, I don't think there has been a film made that don't have at least some people enjoy it.
But definitely not for me.
Based on the box office, mark this down at another film made for the woke movement that has failed.

To sum that article up in a nutshell for anyone, Miller doesn’t plan to work with Cameron again because he didn’t feel in control of his own movie, and he similarly didn’t return for Deadpool 2 because of Ryan Reynolds’ level of control there.

Surprised at Miller throwing Cameron under the bus there...
Doctor Sleep didnt ignite box office either yet Midway and Ford vs Ferrari did better than expected...
theres no shame in less than stellar BO performance nowadays. He should stand for his movie

One wonders how one develops an ego so quickly to think they know better than James Cameron. On their second movie.

But, then again, 2 movies with apparently severe creative issues with others, one might think of the common factor.

I would keep stuff like that to myself if I was in his shoes. Not only out of respect but because Terminator is Cameron's sandbox and If it wasn't for Ryan Reynolds we wouldn't even have Deadpool in film properly and i felt like Deadpool 2 kept me convinced of that.

Until this moment, I didn't didn't know why Miller left Deadpool. That clarification is Much Appreciated.
Thanks!

Sounds like he knows why the movie failed but doesn't want to admit it.

Also, I'm not sure what Miller expected. Justin Lin is better off for his career that he never did another Terminator film. He dodged a huge bullet.

Tim Miller is a talented filmmaker. I hope Hollywood gives him the chance to get back on his feet and work on a project on which he doesn't have to clash with others over creative control. He was attached to "Neuromancer" a while ago. I hope he does something in that vein.
