It was always a sci-fi action franchise. Marvel's Terminator: Genisys didn't work. They will surely try to create something different tone-wise.

The first one had elements from other genres in it. Every sequel instead followed T2's mold which focused more on the action and humor to their detriment. It was always a sci-fi action franchise. Marvel's Terminator: Genisys didn't work. They will surely try to create something different tone-wise.
T2 still had horror elements. Future war, Sarah's nightmares, T-1000 delivered suspense too. Quips were a bit jarring at times, mostly in the later parts of the movie, but theatrical version is relatively balanced in terms of tone. This could have just as easily been another run of the mill slasher series, but the draw became a robot protecting some Connor from other more advanced robots. The first one had elements from other genres in it. I hope Tim Miller encourages this kind of filmmaking wholeheartedly. We need to go back to the roots of the franchise
Fingers crossed.Hopefully Tim Miller has a say in the marketing and ensures that there's no s****y song cover in the trailer this time.
Maybe they're making a special teaser similarly to T2 (T-800 production).
That 80's music mixed with the narrator.
The narrator is none other than Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen.
What's nice about that T2 teaser is that you would think Arnold was still playing the villain. The later trailers gave it away, but had you gone into the movie with only seeing the teaser the shock of the T-800 being a good guy would only come when he tells John to, "Get down."
Yeah, the trailers should have kept the twist a secret!
When I was a kid in 2002, I remember seeing the teaser for Terminator 3. The movie wasn't as amazing as I hoped, but I'll always remember getting really excited when I heard the iconic theme!
T2 still has the best trailer, though! Wish I could have seen that in the theatre!
