Action-Adventure Terminator: Dark Fate

The cyborg/human combination aspect is probably inspired by Salvation but it could also be taken from old terminator comics(Omnibus) where a soldier in the future got injured and captured by the machines then basically got turned into a half terminator.

He was controlled and part of a terminator team sent back in time to stop a team of soldiers who also went back in time first on a mission. He was able to regain partial control and turned on the machines and eventually got full control by destroying a chip in him but remained half a cyborg

I would like to know why they made the movie look so clean and flashy.

Agreed. T2 wasn’t crap looking by any means but besides the T-1000, everything looked practically done. But I guess these days it’s cheaper to do CGI than use practical effects?

While the red band trailer was the better of the two released today, neither are doing anything to get me excited, this still looks like meh.

Its weird, I didn't quite realize I got the redband when I first checked it out. Until the language started. I should check out the non red band trailer to compare, but yes, the red band really sold me on the movie.

Genysis really sucked out a lot of hype for this unfortunately.

Imagine this same trailer, but if it had been the first new Terminator film in a decade, and Arnold’s first appearance as the Terminator since 2003.

At least Mackenzie Davis is showing more acting talent here than Clarke and Courtney combined.

Yeap. They should have waited

sadly the only that didn't work for me in that trailer was Arnold an Aging Terminator is just dumb I don't care how u explain it

Love the Guy but he shouldn't be playing a cyborg anymore and the new "savior" in this movie
I mean whatever hope Linda gets a nice send off here that is all I'm looking forward too

The red band trailer actually makes this look interesting. Still a little hesitant to get excited about it.

A Terminator saying "sorry." It was bad enough when the good guy Terminator did it but the bad one? Smh

Cameron's visual style has changed in the past couple decades. He prefers a more modern visual style. His approved 4k transfer of T2 was completely scrubbed of grain and had everyone looking like wax. He thinks it looks more "modern" that way.

I watched the red band trailer and it wasnt any better than the regular trailer. I really hope this is just a case of the trailers and marketing being much worse than the actual film.

I need to see a clip of this 4k visual style you speak of!

Well Skynet's goal is to infiltrate and wipe-out humanity. You would expect that each version of Terminators to get more and more human-like. I mean even Siri/Alexa/Cortana has the word "Sorry" programmed in response to a failed human request. smh

Not quite getting Skynet's motive any more; they want to erase humanity, but they're becoming more and more like them. Seems the new Skynet just wants to be loved; it's like a child that isn't getting (or doesn't get) enough attention and is acting out.

All i see is Rev9/bad terminator getting owned by Davis. Where's the threat and as others have mentioned the cgi looks average. Im a terminator fan so will give it a watch .Hopefully its better than genisys and salvation but overall its all a little rinse and repeat for my liking. I hope the score kicks ass though. Something metallic, dark and droning would be nice.

Yeah, not like we constantly saw the T1000 getting constantly blown up and shot and torn apart...

After SCC, I'm not sure what people's problems with the Rev9 is. An actual personality to infiltrate. What a shock.

I'm in agreement here. The question in my mind, is how is this new Terminator a threat when all we see it that it can take a massive amount of damage. I feel the duo Terminator is really a gimmick and while, yes, it can repair itself... does it necessarily need to act like a dumb tank and take all that damage?

Yeah that sucks... a killer robot trying to blend in with its environment? What is this, a terminator? :o
The originals did fine without the need to smile and wisecrack. They've humanized them to the point of being forgettable.
