Terminator: Salvation - 7/10

3rd best in this franchise will always be the sweet spot. ;)

Well lets now hope it hits $500 mil WW.

Should do 150 / 350 (US / OS) easily since it has a release in China.

Anything else is a failure for me and they should let this franchise die.

I hope that before the film is released, that we get some updated tracking for it.

I also hope this is the last in the film franchise but don't want it to do horrible at the box office and would be cool if it keeps going up on rotten tomatoes.

I've said before that I feel the franchise should be limited to comics and video games now

I am getting the urge to pick up Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I saw it. It wasn't bad overall, but something felt off for me. I did not like it as much as I wanted to.

I enjoyed the film a lot. The mix of the new and great references to the old work really well. I prefer this to all the films from 3 onwards. I’d also be interested in seeing more films in the post Dark Fate environment. Some of the comedy falls flat but I like the new abilities we see on show and would like to see that continually evolving along with new ideas for what kind of **** to send back into the past lol. I guess I might be talking a bit on the generous side as I really want to like Terminator films and my sis who I saw it with was more mixed on it, but I definitely look forward to seeing this again when it comes out.

Nice review Iceman. I'm looking forward to finally seeing the movie this weekend myself, although I'm not raising my expectations too high honestly.

I am getting the urge to pick up Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I've always wanted to check it out. I've heard nothing but good things about it over the years.

The people here saying that this film is the best sequel since T2 must be absolutely mad in the head. Everyone keeps talking about how the other sequels take a big dump on T1 and T2 but are fine with this film?. This film
killed John Connor in the first 2 minutes of the film, making everything that came before it pointless and that's not ****ting on T2?. This story was always about John Connor and yet Genesis simply made him a villian and everyone lost their **** but this movie kills him off for good for no real reason just to have a repeat of the T1 storyline, again something people pissed on Genesis for, only this time John Connor is a woman and this is ok?. Justify to me why they had to kill off John Connor, without calling me sexist or whatever you wish to throw at me because you have no real argument. Also, the most feared killer who was a completely cold and calculated monster now is a family robot with kids and a job. This is as much of a parody as people claim T3 is. It's so embarassing.

This film is a disgrace to the name but you're all giving it a pass because it's James Cameron. Salvation is 10 times the film this trash is, I'd even take T3. Absolute embarassment.

2/10

Nah we just have a different opinion than you. It's understandable to me why some may hate or like this but nobody must be "mad in the head"

I haven't seen the film. although,I have heard rumors.
I believe that I know what lot details are causing some people to react negatively to this.
But plot details don't bother me .
we are talking about a franchise that deals with alternate timelines.
To me that means ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!

The time travel loop is the only thing I can get my head around. I mean on the one hand, this film establishes the loop by how they find Arnie's character, yet the film ends with the suggestion the loop can be broken.

T2 ends with the same suggestion which of course opened up the premise for this film, but I just find it hard to understand how someone can take a sudden action which breaks the loop.

It just lends weight to the point that Salvation was the most logical sequel to T2, just one that was executed poorly. The issue over the rights has hurt this series so much because I doubt this is where Cameron would have taken things if he had the chance to make a legitimate sequel to T2.

Gears of War 5 has a Terminator Horde Mode, where you take on an army of Terminators. Pretty fun, and even better given one of the players can be Sarah Connor.

but the mode takes skill and to complete in public horde it's brutal but we can take this to the gears thread lol

Nah it was a good show. Pick it up!
It's a "good show" for a decade ago, but that would honestly be stretching it when you consider what was on television then. A decade later, with the output on television now? It would nice to call it a mediocre show.

Yeah it’s difficult compared to regular horde with random players. Also for anyone interested they’ve also added Grace as a playable character along with Sarah Connor. They’re going all in with this tie-in!
