Action-Adventure Terminator: Dark Fate

I saw that above video. Here is the thing, I agree heavily with much of what he says. That says, at this point the series is in a pick your own story type place. You can follow whichever thread you like, or heck you can even ignore the sequels after Terminator 2. I lean towards no film after Terminator 2 added anything that I would revisit, so effectively the series ended there for me. At no point do I see myself watching any Terminator film after that basically ever. They're just not good enough

So I'm not really bent out of shape about any of the decisions this particular movie decided to make. If you really enjoyed this movie and want to consider a proper third film, then good for you. I just didn't think it was good enough as a movie for me really to care

I really feel like to rate this series in full, I would have to watch Terminator 3 again. I probably haven't seen that movie since it was first released or sometime right around there. So it's the one that's the weakest in my memory. But I would probably rank them as follows:

T2 - 5/5
T1 - 5/5
T: DF - 2.5/5
T3 - 2.5/5
TS - 1.5/5
TG - 1/5

But again, I would have to watch Terminator 3 again to really decide if I like that or the new one more. Downside is that would require watching Terminator 3 again!

Wow you guys would really rate this movie as the worst of the absolute dog crap we’ve been given for the 20 years? I thought this was easily the best serious EFFORT put in a Terminator film since T2 (but nowhere near those first two perfect movies).

I feel the same way. I liked it a lot but if it ended here I'd be fine with it. There just seems to be not a lot you could do with this anymore and the last few sucked so hard you can understand why people wouldn't give this one a shot. I think a streaming service series about the new future war would be cool though.

I cant believe they thought Natalia Reyes was a strong enough actress to carry the future of the franchise on. Boy did she stink up this movie.

It was by far the worst movie I've seen all year but that's due to my lifelong admiration for the originals. The effort was on screen it just didn't work. The writing sucked for the most part.

If it was just a standard action movie with no brand connections, it's like a 6/10 quality movie. As it stands, the last few have proven it's not worth revisiting the elite filmmaking and storytelling of when the franchise had a soul.

I am going to be honest, I am happy about this. After I heard what they were going to do with my boy, I had no desire for this to succeed.

They thought Cameron coming on board would help a lot. But they lost the battle for this one a long time ago, with the mix of pre-release disdain and the fact that the series hasn't had a success in almost 30 years.

Oh sh*t. You’re right. In a strange way it’s kind of eerie on how unintentionally prescient the title turn out to be now with the lackluster box office this movie is looking to have.

It is indeed a dark fate for this film that could not be prevented.

This is absolutely not worse than that campy Genisys garbage or T3 which pissed all over the first two movies. And Salvation....McG is all i need to say. I know its all subjective but come on now, Tim Miller directed this way better than those other 3.
