I think Emilia Clarke could do a good job, but either way, I don't think the movie's quality will just rise or fall depending on her performance. Just look at how they approach the plot, with a BTTF2 style to it. Changing actions from the past, creating a new present and a new future, it could be a recipe for disaster. Hopefully it's not. I know fans are getting their hopes up that a new Terminator movie would be T1/T2 quality, but I'm happy if this is better than T3 or Salvation, and that doesn't really require much.

As for the casting, I think Emilia Clarke was kind of a no-brainer. You can always argue about the other candidates being better, and I have no problems with Brie Larson or Tatiana Maslany, but Sarah Connor is one of the most iconic female characters of all time, and Emilia Clarke is by far the hottest pick out of the candidates. She plays one of the bigger parts of Game of Thrones - the most popular tv show on earth. While I think the name of the movie (Terminator) is gonna sell most of the tickets, there's probably a fair share of people who will watch this, just because Khaleesi is in it. Larson or Maslany doesn't really have that gravitas. And we all know the studio wants to earn money first, making a good movie is just a bonus.

I doubt her being Khaleesi is gonna draw that many people in. People always think that once a movie casts an actor who plays a big role in a TV show. People want to see her as Khaleesi. I dont think anyone really gives a f*** about her as anything else. At least not yet. By your logic, Pompeii shouldve been a much bigger success because it had Jon Snow in it.

I don't think it will matter a lot, but it still probably has a certain effect. It's the lead role of the movie and the three candidates for it haven't really had their big break yet. But out of the three, Emilia Clarke is probably the most popular one.

I doubt most people aside from GOT fans know who Emilia Clarke is.

Hell, most people who watch Game of Thrones don't even know her character's actual name on that show. ;)

I don't watch GOT, but I know her from Spike Island and Dom Hemingway.

Who and what now?

Remember my rules you guys:

Never trust a person who doesn't like Italian food.

Never trust a person who hasn't seen Game of Thrones and/or Breaking Bad.

It's just how it is.

I still haven't seen Breaking Bad, but I really want to (saw one and a half of the first season episodes, loved it).

No interest in trying GoT so far.

Gave game of thrones an honest try and it didnt interest me at all. If inwant that type of fantasy entertainment Ill pop in lord of the rings.

Well you clearly didn't watch it. Anyone who has actually seen an episode of GoT would say it is nothing like LotR.

GoT was good in season 1, but after that most of the storylines stopped interesting me. Arya's story was good but this past season I grew kinda tired of it until the finale.

The only storyline I like are the Lannister related ones. If that was the whole show it'd be one of my favorite shows on TV

Season 4 is fantastic imo, and on par with the first season. I think Season 2 is easily the weakest, but has Blackwater, with season 3 being uneven but comes out strong. But all seasons of GoT are better then 99% of television.

Blackwater was really cool.

I forgot, but yeah some of Jon Snow's storyline can be pretty cool. THe whole thing with Ygritte season 3 and 4 was good.
Still the show isnt anything that special to me other than the Lannisters and the fact Im impressed they got such a blockbuster/high budget type story on TV without it being corny

Blackwater was great, but The Watchers on the Wall takes the cake in terms of action in GoT.

Shoot me if You want but its just how i see it and people jumping on the bandwagon all over to be in with whats popular.

OT: Walking Dead had such a strong start and then got a 2nd wind in the 3rd season, but it's kinda lame now

Being bitter over something because it's popular? #NewsToMe :o

How am I bitter over something popular that I could care less about? I came here to talk terminator and met with something completely off topic besides the fact it stars an actress from it. Dont want someone bashing GOT then take the circle jerk to the threads dedicated to it.
