Terminator: Genisys - Part 5

I didn't think this movie could look any stupider and then they reveal [BLACKOUT]John Conner is now a Terminator[/BLACKOUT]. How the hell... no... I am not going to even ask how that happened. I am just going to close my eyes and pretend this movie isn't happening.

Let's not get TOO carried away folks... It could be a case of Rise/Dawn of The Planet of the Apes...

Or it could not:o

If it's good. I'll be very happy. I don't get why people say "I want this movie to fail"

I hope all movies turn out good. However I really don't see people like this much

Because fans are tired of seing the Terminator Universe butt raped in all it's glory. This film will have no heart, no soul. Half of the clips ive seen are straight throwbacks to the original franshise. This Movie will once again confirm what is wrong with 21st century Hollywood. Im sick of it , sick of its typical generic feel. Standard camera work. crappy CGI, Lackluster score. Silly comedy moments to make the audience have a chuckle. **** that **** i want a terminator film to evoke darkness and dread so the audience can feel a sence of terror for technology.

Humans are so intwinde with tech these days that they can't even think on a human level no more. Cameron understands this logic but then again he's a victim himself with his craving for technology to bring his film Avatar to life.

In other words, you're going to see it opening weekend, huh? :mnm:

Heh heh, maybe the reason they revealed this plot twist now is because there are even WORSE ones we don't know about, like...

Arnold is actually John's father! The reason John becomes a terminator is because he is the product of human and T-800 DNA.

Kyle Reese was actually working for Skynet! He volunteered to go back in time to make sure the T-800 did its job, only in the original version, the time travel process messed with his mind and made him think he was supposed to stop the terminator. But in this version, he gets his memory back and tries to kill Sarah.

Skynet is not actually artificial intelligence! The master computer is actually controlled by someone... only it's not man or machine! It's
the Predator!!!

Worst case scenario: This movie bombs and then they reboot it correctly in 10 years. This isn't the endgame for the franchise. This is one of those movies that will always be around. Dare I say it (do I even dare?), but a good person to start all over again from scratch and give it a fresh start would be... [BLACKOUT]Nolan[/BLACKOUT].

This is the endgame for the franchise. The rights revert back to James Cameron in three years for good. After that, nobody will ever be able to touch it, without his approval. Terminator is Cameron's baby. It'll be a great day, once it's back in his control.

Nah. Something will happen. Cameron will sell the rights.

Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Ghostbusters, James Bond... This stuff doesn't go away. It'll always be with us.

Very doubtful. The guy is insanely rich and one of his biggest regrets was losing control of this franchise.

We might get more films, we might not but with the rights back in his control, I can promise you, It'll put an end to these cynical cash grabs.

No Cameron isn't going to sell the rights. Most likely he'll just keep it like how Bob Gale and Bob Zem owns the Back to the Future rights. They're just keeping it too so no one will milk the crap out of it.

Maybe it was Cameron's experiment with Hollywood, to see how many times studios will buy the rights and make it run the gauntlet.

why is it in spoiler? its in the trailer. John Connor is a new terminator and the villain of Terminator Genisys.

the studio wanted it spoiled. :woot:

BTW, I love Jason Clarke as an actor, but he is miscast here. He seems so awkward. He works better as a character actor (Zero Dark Thirty, Lawless, Great Gatsby), though he was fine as the straight man in 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes'. I just don't think John Connor is the right role for him.

I can't believe they wanted Tom Hardy, and I'm glad that he said no.

I'm going to skip this movie, for Daenerys' sake.

I think everyone's career will be fine after this. Emilia has GoT, Jason Clarke will continue to keep on trucking, and Jai has his DC movies.

It's weird that JK Simmons is barely in the ads too. Or the actor who's playing Dyson's son.

Agreed. Jason Clarke's a talented actor but this isn't the right role for him. Bale fit the role like glove, even though the movie wasn't very good and the writing/directing let him down.

It's been ages since I saw Salvation. Why was it so poorly received again? I remember being very excited about the cast, but then nothing about the movie stuck with me.

I made a video covering the new trailer as I have for other Genisys media.

Please be careful with me, I'm sensitive and I'd like to stay that way.

Surprised to hear the uncertainty around Jason Clarke. He was the only thing that stood out to me (in a good way anyway) in this latest trailer. In a film full of miscasts, he's the only guy I'm interested in.

And yes. I will see this in the cinema. I'm really looking forward to it, oddly moreso the worse it looks.

Tom Hardy is way too good for this ****.

Just out of curiosity: Why don't we like Jai Courtney?

He's been in like three movies, lol.

I'm not saying I like him or hate him, I just fail to see the reason to automatically detest him.

Between Jack Reacher and A Good Day to Die Hard and now this and Suicide Squad, I'd say he's making a hell of a name for himself, having starred with Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Will Smith in such a short amount of time. That's kind of impressive.

I have nothing against him. I liked him in Spartacus and Jack Reacher (even tho he didn't do much).

But his comments about Reese and the first Terminator movie are idiotic.
