I keep tellin folks... There's more to this film. The Connor twist is nothing.

And there is the idea that they have three films already generally planned out.

The real twist:

Arnoldminator turns out to be a human.

Sarah: "how is this possible, uncle Termie?"

Uncle Termie: "I studied in Tibet. Pain don't hurt!"

And that's one of the film's problems. It looks convoluted and confusing as hell. Based on the trailers, there's no focus to this film. I don't even think the marketing team knows wtf to do.

Well you know we can't tell if the film is too convoluted, confusing or busy when we haven't seen it yet. No reason to make comments like this at the moment. The marketing team knows what they are doing. I disagree with the approach, but it works.

Paramount Japan uploaded five TV spots to their Youtube channel.

The first video they uploaded has a quick shot of the punks in 1984. Maybe it's a fanboy thing to complain about but I wonder why they gave the Shao Kahn punk a mohawk, which the character didn't have in the original.

The third spot has
Dyson talking about CyberDyne "revolutionizing technology with the ultimate killer app, Genisys".

Where is Bill Paxton ?

Looks like they tried to re-create the first movie by memory more than actually watching it again. So what was the point of tying it all together if they're going to be lazy on it?

Theyre really playing the hell out of that "I'll be Back" helicopter bit. Even I was excited for this it would've gotten old. Kinda like the Star Lord "Who" bnit from Guardians

That, and that bit was kind of lame to begin with and they seem to think it's awesome.

It was passable the first time but throwing it in every place they can squeeze it has made me hate it.

That's the sucky thing about watching trailers now. THeyre shown so much and so often they have the same jokes.

I try to not watch pass the 1st theatrical trailer if Im anticipating a movie but even then you see the same trailers if you go to the movies a lot.

Again using Guardians as an example, I saw a bunch of movies last summer and IM pretty sure all of them had the Guardians trailer attached to it. The same trailer. And as I said before the part with Star Lord and Korath would always play and its not really funny by the time I got to see it in the theaters.

I get why they do it, but I don't like it much.
Now I just take my ipod and just play it through the trailers.

The Big Banginator... nah. Sounds too pronoish.

I don't think it works at all. I'd argue that most of the reactions to the trailers/tv spots have been lukewarm at best - based on comments from SHH, Youtube, etc. This film has a lot of the tell-tale signs that it's a convoluted mess. The trailers don't have a focus at all. This to me communicates that the marketing team - which can literally pick and choose what to insert into a trailer - probably can't find a concise, focused narrative in the film.

Of course, I could be wrong, and this might be the biggest surprise of the year. But I'm willing to bet otherwise.

I think it's odd that they've never bothered to use "Hasta La Vista Baby" again.

"I'll be back."
"Come with me if you want to live."
"Get out."

Like, why not use Hasta La Vista again? You're already milking the other three. Just go for it.

The Latino Progression Association will complain about them using that phrase and not knowing what it means.

:o

:o

But you know I mean? They're running every other line into the ground. Just do 'em all.

It might be a surprise they are hiding in the movie we haven't seen yet.

With the reenacting stuff with the punks. This could've worked Rashomon style, or like Back to the Future 2, if they could get the rights to the first two films, and played around with that.
