Terminator: Genisys - Part 6

I was looking at some pictures of Boyd Holbrook because at one point, he was in the running for Kyle Reese. When I was watching The Terminator at the theater last week, I couldn't help but see Holbrook in Michael Biehn.

Similar look and his build is perfect for Reese. I've never really seen him in anything so I can't say how he would have been but it makes me wonder.

Should have been Holbrook and Brie Larson instead of Jai and Emilia.

No surprise here with the Jai Courtney comment. He's quickly becoming one of my most hated actors/actresses along with Michelle Rodriguez.

Michelle? Maybe a few years ago, I haven't seen that much hate for her anymore since she's found a niche for herself.

Her niche has always been to try and play Vasquez from Aliens. She's just not very good.

That's true but she hasn't been in other movies where she can 'taint' them, if that makes sense. Maybe 'Lost', but even then that was the LAST TIME she actually attempted to act.

"Attempted to act" is being a little too generous for her. :woot:
Put Courtney in there with her.

Jai Courtney is a charisma vortex yet he's gotten the prime roles of John McClane's son and Kyle Reese, there is no justice lol.

Collider.com is doing a retrospective on all the Terminator movies. I love this little blurb. I never thought about it but it really shows how well the first two movies complement each other.

The Terminator’s mission in the first film is to perform a “retroactive abortion” by killing Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) before her son is born. T2 is about creating a surrogate father figure for John Connor, and even Sarah acknowledges in voiceover, “In an insane world, it was the sanest choice.” But it’s her narration before this line that really subverts Reese’s description from the first movie. In The Terminator, Reese says of the Terminator:

It can't be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

But when Sarah sees the T-800 interacting with John in T2, she narrates:

The Terminator would never stop. It would never leave him, and it would never hurt him, never shout at him, or get drunk and hit him, or say it was too busy to spend time with him. It would always be there. And it would die, to protect him.

He does pretty much look like he could be Biehn's son.

Maybe this is premature, but...

Hey, Paramount, remember those sequels you had planned...

Yikes 17% already? Guess I'll be saving my hard earns on this one.

I've never ever watched (or not watched) a film based on what Rotten Tomatoes says. With that said however, it does tend to give a general indication (in extreme examples) if a film is woefully bad or amazingly good. Starting out at 17% doesn't bode well.

I don't look at Tomatometer's score to judge a movie, provided if that score is higher than 40 %.

Anything below 40 % can be safely termed as bad and avoided.

lets predict what will happen next. based on the negative reaction and bad reviews we will lower our expectations. and some will watch the movie and this will get repeated for the next weeks.
-it was not as bad as i expected
-its in no way as bad as critics said.
-its not the worst movie of all time.
-its better than T3
-what did you expect? Fury Road?

^ Some Most comments over at /Slashfilm are saying that the movie is at par or better then bad "Jurassic World" (which is hard to believe), then there's this amazing review -

Actually, Cameron enrolled at a two-year community college, to study physics, but switched to English, then dropped out before the start of the second year, which is when he became a truck driver. An undergraduate degree in physics that does not make.

He has an old-form Dutch degree that is the equivalent of a Masters of Science, not an actual PhD. Impressive nonetheless.

Good post.

It is weird how awful Alan Taylor is. He did the first two episodes of mad men.

This is my favorite excuse (it's the worst excuse for a movie)

I actually had hope after Cameron endorsed the film but apparently he's completely out of touch or they paid him a a lot of money to say the movie is good.
