Terminator: Genisys - Part 6

Just my opinion, but I've always felt that the "Worthington outacted Bale" comments stemmed from people just thinking Bale was a d**k because of his on-set rant. Granted, it didn't help that Bale's John Connor was a huge letdown in that he did almost nothing for the entire film other than sit in a basement and listen to recordings his mom made. But still, I found "Marcus" to be equally boring and unlikeable. The only character that movie did well with was Kyle Reese.

Is she actually pointing that gun at someone or is she just holding it? It's hard to tell from that photo.

It's sad that Yelchin's teenage Kyle Reese's gun handling looks more authoritative and powerful than an adult actress playing Sarah Conner.

It's a still of someone holding a gun.

Good Lord, not everything needs to be picked at.

The only thing I could think of while watching Salvation was "I wonder what scene Bale lost his ***** in."

I think the scene where he confronts Sam's character in the water.

Just watched T2 on Netflix. I kind of hate this movie more than ever. The part of the movie where they hook up with the hispanic family, resupply and fix their cars. You would never see that in modern blockbuster film. The scene of John and the Terminator under the car....when would you ever see a scene like that in modern films?

what? Im confused...are you saying you hate T2 because of those scenes or you hate TG because it wont have those kind of scenes.

He hates TG, not T2.

No one in the universe hates T2.

I know a few people who dont for various reasons, one common one is turning arnold good and into a pet. I see that but it doesnt ruin the film for me

We know Bryce Dallas Howard was there, because at one point he yells "back off, Bryce!".

What did he say?

“I think only an idiot would closely watch a film from 1984 to get performance tips when you’re talking about a film that has come so far from that original film.

“Without giving you too much my Kyle Reese isn’t the Kyle Reese of Michael Biehn. He gave a great performance for what was necessary at the time but action movies are much different now than in 1984.

Only an idiot would closely watch a film from 1984 for performance tips, even though you're playing the exact same character in a movie that shot-for-shot remakes some of the exact same scenes?

What makes no sense is that if anyone wasn't changed, it would be Kyle. He is the one who is being sent back at the same point, only to be confronted with a new timeline. He is the same man going back. It is one of the stupidest things I have ever read.

I don't think an actor has to do a complete impression of somebody else. Like, Chris Pine as Kirk, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Tom Hardy as Mad Max, etc. all very candidly straight-up said they weren't gonna act like Shatner, McKellen, or Gibson and were gonna play the role their own way.

But Genisys is flat-out remaking some scenes straight from the 1984 movie. And also, they didn't say it in a way that came off as belittling the original like Courtney does.

I don't think what he said is that bad. Did you really expect anything different in the context of this film? He didn't come up with this stuff on his own, he was directed to not be like Biehn.

The other thing too is even though they weren't emulating their predecessors, they still at least kept the spirit of those characters in the performance. We still see Kirk as a head-strong, womanizing adventurer who bucks authority. Fassbender still had Magneto's drive and desire to have mutants properly represented, although he was not yet fanatic to the point of genocide though I can't say anything on Hardy's Max yet, not having seen the movie.

Courtney though just comes off as ignorant and arrogant, that he's going to make this character his own and be another generic meathead soldier.

I cant believe anyone still uses that bridge, if you base your life in movies
