I have to agree, not just with this movie but this summer in general has had less hype then previous years. Ultron was a dud for me and aside from mad max and jurassic world being massive surprises for me the rest have sucked. The rest of the movies this summer are coming but who os really talking about them? Antman may pick up some steam as the time draws near but thats still a tough sell. I really feel like movies like star wars belong in the summer time and not holiday releases in the winter.

This summer has been great. Inside Out, Spy, and Mad Max is better then the vast majority of summers.

The summer is fine in terms of quality. At least for me. Ive seen most of the movies on my list and I liked them all.

I just didn't/don't see that much pre release buzz for movies or if they did have buzz (Pitch Perfect 2, AoU) it died out

Which is funny, considering we have had 3 movies make over 1.4b since April.

I also felt like Pitch Perfect 2 was quite hyped.

I've been enjoying this summer movie season. Ex Machina, Spy and Mad Max were wonderful.

Last summer was a did hit wise. It took until August for a movie to hit 300 million.

That isn't true at all. San Andreas has made plenty of money. Inside Out is killing it at the Box Office. The Minions will kill it at the box office quite soon. We have two summer movies taking in 3 billion between just the two of them.

Yeah, San Andreas was surprise to a lot of people.

There were expectations that no one really wanted a disaster film these days or no one really wanted to see the Rock in anything aside from Fast and Furious.

I don't know where everyone here lives, but the last 3 months at the box office has been quite healthy. So whether you are feeling hype or buzz, it is manifesting at the Box Office.

Inside Out is well on its way to being at least the third highest grossing Pixar film to date. At least domestically.

Turn on any kids channel and count how many times these movies are tv spotted to any other network and then tell me Im wrong. There kids movies but DO have elements for parents because how else are kids suppose to get to the theater? pre teens are gonna catch a bus or drive themselves?

You do realize everything PG-13 and under in the "summer blockbuster" realm, is intended for kids right? That is why they sell toys for Batman, Cap, Star Wars and Jurassic World. That doesn't stop a fantastic film from being fantastic. Zod, you are hilarious.

You talk pre hype buzz, when AoU, JW and Inside Out were outpacing their predecessors in pre-ticket sales. Or that many films tracked very well and then even outdid expectations like San Andreas and Pitch Perfect 2.

Its written on screen as I recall. I have no idea. You see the John Connor terminator in that time line though. Young Kyle also exists in that timeline. The whole movie is a mess. Turn your brain off at the door otherwise you'll leave angry and frustrated.
