That's not low enough. Come on critics, get this sucker down below 10.

The movie was ok. The trailers made the movie look really bad but it wasn't that bad. The movie felt kind of pointless like all the movies after T2 but I enjoyed it. I liked how they redo some scenes from the first movie(like seen in the trailer) and it was great to see Arnold as terminator again.

I don't know where everyone here lives, but the last 3 months at the box office has been quite healthy. So whether you are feeling hype or buzz, it is manifesting at the Box Office.

Inside Out is well on its way to being at least the third highest grossing Pixar film to date. At least domestically.

Oh no Im not desputing box office returns which have been fine.
Im just saying I personally haven't seen much hype for a lot of films. The ones that have done really well have had hype around them and I stated that.

I agree there hasn't been a lot of hype for Terminator, which is why I would be very surprised if it did well. It might come out of the gate ok based on the brand name and return of Arnie, but if the reviews are anything to go by, the WOM should be pretty horrible.

I really don't know who they made this for. I guess only those really really hardcore fanboys that like anything Terminator related.

TO casual fans, I don't think the action looks interesting and neither does the movie in general (from what Ive seen)
To Terminator fans, this looks like it's crapping on the continuity.

I guess if youre an Arnold fan you'd check this out, but none of Arnold's comeback movies have made any noise. SO I don't think they'd bank on that

I wonder if JW feeding the nostalgia train will help this film.

We've got a critic consensus and it's not surprising.

"Mired in its muddled mythology, Terminator: Genisys is a lurching retread that lacks the thematic depth, conceptual intelligence, or visual thrills that launched this once-mighty franchise."

I don't think so. Part of why JW did what it did was because it appeals to so many people. The trailers for TG can't hide how bad it looks. JW sold the dino mayhem and "The Park is Reopen!" and people ate it up.

If Bale coming off TDK couldn't help Salvation, then this is dead dead deadski.

I consider myself a pretty hardcore Terminator fan (hence the user name) but I'm apart of a Facebook group where other fans basically tell people that if they weren't liking what they were seeing from Genisys, they aren't true fans and critic reviews are too low and the movie deserves better.

Keep in mind, these people haven't seen it themselves. I didn't even know fans like this existed in the Terminator community. Most were either open to Genisys or angry all the time. Though I saw some completely switch to positive after Cameron gave the thumbs up. That was pretty funny.

Bale's on-set rant, problems with his mother and sister and the old ending didn't help Salvation.

Some good moments and action, but the story is basically like bad fan fiction.

Look at the filmography of the screenwriters, and I rest my case.

And just so you know, I actually like Jai Courtney a lot. He was one of my favorite parts about Spartacus. He is mis-cast here, and so is Emilia Clarke. It looks like she is cos-playing as Sarah Connor.

The story and writing make no sense.

Another reason not to trust Latino Review.

My guess is on where they would take the story:

Future movies would probably show Sarah and Kyle finding pops and sending him back to 1973.

I think the main problem with Salvation is that the franchise has always built on the idea of preventing judgement day from happening, defeating Skynet before Skynet wipes out 90% of the population. With Salvation, humanity has already lost. Even if they shut down Skynet and kill some robots and manage to survive, it's a small victory in contrast to earth being mostly wiped out.

Even Terminator 2 is ambiguous. The film only ends on the hope that perhaps Judgment Day has been averted, but there is no guarantee it has. Cameron deleted the epilogue with the alternate future where there was no Judgment Day, and the world is at peace. If the future can be changed you have to constantly fight to protect it.

Judgement Day being inevitable always made sense to me. Getting to the war was always the end game. The first two movies can't happen otherwise. John can't exist without Kyle coming back.

What did Latino Review say? Where did they say it?

Exactly. The "No fate" line is either a naive mindset of the main characters or simply a motivational tool to keep pressing onward until their fate is staring them direct in the face. As a more ancient proverb states, "one often meets fate on the path taken to avoid it".

Cameron was smart enough with T2 to leave things uncertain. It gives fans a glimmer of hope, or lets them believe the loop is still closed. The conceit of The Terminator never made room for sequels, and every new film since the first has strained to justify its existence.

So where this Robocop vs. Terminator and Sarah Conner Chronicles.

I choose to believe Judgement Day was averted in T2.

The positive reviews basically go, "eh, it could be worse". :funny:

To those who have seen the movie... does Emilia Clarke blink rapidly while firing her gun in the final cut?
