Once the director and cast were chosen I was leery of this project.

Rarely is my instinct wrong on these things. I was a little leery of Spy, but the trailers sold me. Well beyond the existence of the perfection that is Rose Byrne.

Last time I was massively wrong was Big Hero 6. I thought for sure it would be good. Those critics lied to me. :cmad:

I consider myself a pretty hardcore Terminator fan (hence the user name) but I'm apart of a Facebook group where other fans basically tell people that if they weren't liking what they were seeing from Genisys, they aren't true fans and critic reviews are too low and the movie deserves better.

Keep in mind, these people haven't seen it themselves.

There are brand-wagon fans like that in all fandoms. They'd say if you didn't like MOS you're not a real DC movie fan of if you're not going to see Ant-Man you're not a real Marvel movie fan ect... Basically you hav to like or see everything or you're not a real fan

I went to see Spy after word got out that it was a good film. I like McCarthy so I was happy to hear that it was a good film. I like Rose as well of course, she is underrated.

I was not hoping that TG was bad, I wanted it to be another Rise of the Planet of the Apes situation but unfortunately that doesn't look to be the case.

Are McG, Jonathan Mostow and Alan Taylor really the best directors that are willing helm a Terminator movie? I'd prefer the franchise be put out to pasture but if they are going to continue to pump out these films can they hire an interesting visionary director for once?

Once they cast Clarke and Courtney, I knew there was trouble. At least with Larson, I could count on a great performance. So I never saw an Apes situation.

As to the quality of the director, well they need someone willing to do what they want them to do. Cameron made his own films. Now they want someone who will make their films. Yes men. Rarely does that work.

Like I said when we found out the John Connor reveal, I wish this franchise would die with dignity.

Oh, man. If only I could jump into that gif and accept her invite.

I was growing wary of McCarthy considering The Heat and Tammy were wearing her schtick thin. At least Spy transferred her obnoxiousness over to Jason Statham who completely owned it with epic results.

Courtney on his own was a red flag.

Clarke being cast for a film with a familiar director for her was a red flag.

The first trailer having Clarke as Sarah in T2 mode first heard uttering Kyle's classic line was a red flag.

The John Connor reveal was the final nail in the coffin.

How to Train Your Dragon already did, and much better.

Hiccup didn't have a brother who was killed. Nor did he face off against a man wanting to avenge the death of his child. And Hiro didn't have to prove his tribe (country) wrong about AI or robots. He also didn't have to capture and gain the trust of Baymax or save Baymax or his people from a big monster Baymax. And hiccup didn't use Toothless to fill the hole left by a dead sibling. The two movies really aren't that similar.

The whole movie is a red flag and when arnold wanted to come back at his age and still try to be a menacing killing machine. Not quite as bad as willis in the latest die hard but this film should have really been made by 2007 at the latest, a shame he spent some good quality years behind a desk. He's just too old now to do these types of roles and him and stallone still trying to look buff like there 20 screams steroid use.

He might just think HTTYD was a better movie than BH6.

I would say this is better simply because i left the theater furious with that one and at least it seems like Arnold wants to be here unlike Bruce. But both do make me feel like, how can this be in the same series as those originals. They both feel like imitation. I cant say that personally about Jurassic World, i legitimately enjoyed the hell out of that and thougt it was a worthy entry to the series.

That's a fair point, Arnie does seem like he's still trying, Bruce seems bored in practically everything he's in these days.

Bruce Willis definitely doesn't bring his A-game anymore.

I don't blame him for going into semi-retirement mode. He's got nothing else to prove and the studios are will to hand him loads of cash for just showing up.

And what kind of Marvel fanatic doesn't watch every MCU film?

It's only two films for the whole year.

Those of you praying for a new Conan movie with Arnold better pray this movie doesn't absolutely bomb.

I plan on seeing Terminator: Genisys, regardless of predictions of quality. I doubt it'll be of the quality of T1 or T2. But I'm hoping for at least fun stupidity.

"Talk the hand".

Yeah real fun.

Give me the clver fun of T2 over the stupid "fun" of T3.

That is what I don't get. Stupid stuff isn't really fun to me most of the time. Especially mediocre stuff.
