Okay ,but you just gave more money to a movie that you clearly don't think should have been made.

In Terminator, when Arnold wouldn't die... you we're scared.

In T2, when Patrick wouldn't die... you we're scared.

The T-X was never scary, and now John is never scary... bummer.

I will say, this might have the best sacrificial play by an Arnie Terminator in all of the franchise...

Sadly, this wasn't bad-bad to get some enjoyment out of it.

In the end it was just plain, vanilla, boring and a waste of time and money for everyone involved. Basically just unnecessary and not worthy of the name it's trying not at all to actually emulate or achieve to.

Sounds pretty much how I feel.

This was a great big ball of meh, uninspired retreads in an attempt to build up good will with nostalgia and heavy-handed callbacks, ridiculously convoluted, coming across like bad fanfiction.

Emilia was a little girl playing dress-up, Courtney looked and acted like he just came from pumping iron at the gym to recite some lines he memorized off a cue card, Jason Clarke was meh, and even Arnold just doesn't have it anymore.

Agreed. This movie takes a huge dump on the terminator mythology. Such lazy movie making. Total crapfest.

Hmmmm....well, I guess I'll go see it this weekend...?

They humanized the terminator (T-800) that alone warrants a bad review.

Maybe they should learn to stop being so over-ambitious and try to make one good movie first.

It's a really damn good point. Because of Marvel and Lord of the Rings everyone wants an automatic trilogy and a ****ing shared universe or multiverse. It's beyond moronic.

Also, maybe we have to recognize that what happened with Thor: The Dark World wasn't all Marvel's fault.

They hold the smaller part of the blame.

Making a second Terminator was stretching it as is. It's just not an easily franchisable idea.

I think the international numbers will be decent but enough to start a franchise? I doubt it.

Genisys ignores T3 and Salvation.

Yes, Genisys is only in continuity with the first two.

It uses the original Judgment Day date of August 29, 1997 (before the timeline shift), in TS/Salvation Judgment Day was postponed until July 3, 2004.

Also, Kyle's first meeting with John Connor is completely different than it how it happened in Salvation. No Kate Connor as well.

the comments at the bottom are gold :hehe:

I guess we will get the answers in Terminator: Exodys.
I eagerly anticipate Terminator: Psylms. It’s just 90 minutes of Terminators reciting poetry in their Ahnold voices.
And the franchise will come to the ultimate climax in Terminator: Revylations.
Terminator: Lyviticus will finally be the film where they actually lay out the laws of dimensional time travel.
Terminator: Song of Songs is going to be awkward to watch.

:funny: at the idea of Terminators reciting poetry :funny:

Yeah, those had me rolling too.

I don't agree that Terminator isn't franchisable. I think they could've done a Future War trilogy, but screwed it up with Salvation. The going back in the past to kill a Connor thing can get old though, if that's what they would continue to do. With Genisys they put a nice spin on it though.

Just got back from seeing it.

Other than Arnold, everyone in this movie was mis-cast.

I still hope we get a sequel to explain the points that were purposely left un-answered (who sent the terminator back to 1973 to kill Sarah, etc) but other than that this film was meh at best.
