I’m sure a lot of people have read this article shaking their head…and yet they likely text while driving. Or we think “hah, that’ll never happen to me, I’m too careful” and those people die too.
I see it every day on my drive home from work. People swerving into other lanes while they are busy texting or talking on their phone. And I mean that literally, I see it happening at LEAST once a day.

What's it like in your area?

I don't understand how this isn't against the law nationwide.

I have a touchscreen phone so texting while driving is out of the question. But back when I had one of those ancient bar phones with the physical number pad I could text without looking at the phone. Now I just give the person a call.

I know they are devices available preventing texting while driving.

I've never understood why people think they can text and drive. How the hell does someone honestly think they're capable of staring at a tiny screen and typing while driving a car?

I don't even trust people to drive and listen to the radio at the same time effectively.

That photo could have been easily faked. They want to fine drivers for texting.

I'm assuming they think they can handle it. My favorite are the people that slow down to like 40 on the freeway so they can dial their phone or text.

In Jersey you can't be on your phone at all in the car. My dad got pulled over for it.

My car has blu tooth so I can make calls/receive calls all hands free which is really nice and extremely safe.

Down here in FL as long as your vehicle has 4 wheels and a steering wheel the Cops don't care what you do....its sad.

Man, on one hand I'm glad they got rid of the hassle of car inspections but yeah seriously, I expect to see someone put a motor in a shopping cart one day.

Yes, because the government needs our money.

Oh, you're one of those people. Sorry I mistook you for reasonable. Carry on.

Hey, man! The local government doesn't need our money!

...why the **** are these roads riddled with potholes?!

Its like, if there was only a way to raise funds and punish people for breaking the law at the same time.

haha man if I see that driving home today I would do a double take but not even be surprised.

I see it a lot as well. We have all done it. I try to never do it however. I wait until I am stopped.

I got rear ended by a girl who was texting. I remember looking in my rear view and realizing she wasn't going to stop because her face was buried in the phone.

I wouldn't be able to contain my rage.......
