I just saw the teaser, and for a long time now I have been disgusted by the casting choice they made of that blonde UGLY idiot playing Bond.

He is not 007, doesn't look like him, nothing like him, it is not James!!!

I don't care what anyone says, I won't give it a chance. Even though there's alot of complaining about Brandon Routh as Superman, I can still see him as Supes, this guy as Bond just aint doing it.

He looks like a Bond villian but, not Bond.

That last scene of him at the poker table or whatever, he looked so freaking ugly.

Just a shame. You know someone screwed up when they had to ask Roger and Peirce to try and talk pissed off fans into giving him a chance. So other than some internet weirdos that aren't real fans and don't get it, noone likes that guy playing Bond.

The true fans know that new guy sucks and isn't 007. I won't even say his name and I've forgotten it by now anyway 'cause I could care less. Clive Owen would've been better than this guy even.

True fans should also take into account the crap that was Die Another Day.. I am ashamed to be a Bond fan when I watched that movie for the first and only time... it was just sooo stupid and corny as hell... espcially that scene where he parachutes down that melted ice hill.... that was just pitiful...

I look forward to a new incarnation of Bond... the Brosnan-era was getting really silly, much like the Moore-era (ala Moonraker)... I'm giving him a chance because I believe the franchaise is in major jeopardy after DAD.. and I hope he can help revive it.. and from what I have seen thus far.. i think its very possible..

I do agree tho.. i was really hoping for Clive Owen at first too.. but not now

I'm not too thrilled about Craig either, but I am willing to give him a chance. The trailer was well done IMO and I'm looking forward to CR. I've said this before, but I think Craig's Bond will be the equivalent of Keaton's Batman - both will pull off the role and the films will be excellent, but you never truly accept either one as Bond or Batman.

LOL, what is with all this moral indignation all of a sudden. True fans this, fake fans that. If you're a Bond fan, you're a Bond fan. If your ashamed to be a Bond fan, don't be one. Die Another Day sucked, yup no argument there, but it's part of the series, just as DAF was, just as Moonraker was, just as Licence To Kill was. You take the good with the bad, suck it up and wait for the next film to deliver something more to your liking.

Okay, this is getting ridiculous now.

We don't need a billion threads in this forum *****ing about Craig's hair or how "ugly" he is. And let's not yammer on and on about what a true fan should believe or what. It's a friggin' trailer. Wait until the film comes out. Or even better, just don't go see it.

Craig is the new 007. Deal.

Sure Craig's a little rugged, but what's wrong with that?

It sounds like Morgoth doesn't find Craig could looking enough for his liking to be Bond.

Flemming only lived long enough to meet Sean Connery briefly on the set of Dr. No. Flemming was severly disappointed. He thought Connery was a ditch digger, not the refined gentleman that Bond was(who is based on Flemming.)

**** Flemming, give me a ditch digger over a pansy any day of the week, it's not like it diminishes the character in any way.

Fair point. I think he looks perfect except for the blonde hair, which is easily overlooked for me. He looks rugged and smooth atthe same time. No 007 has had both since Connery. He looks like a man's man.

    Okay.

    He looks like Red Grant.

lol, there is nothing more pathetic than someone invoking the 'true fans' thing.
    It's ridiculous.

I have absolutely no problem with you not accepting Craig as 007 - once you've seen Casino Royale in it's entirety.

although the teaser was well done and i liked it a a lot, it just didn't feel right.

he really doesn't look like bond.

and although i'll probably see the film, craig just isn't cutting it as bond.

Is it due to a lack of resemblance to Moore/Dalton/Brosnon, or in some way do you find him particlularly lacking?

Just curious, I'm not out to change your mind or anything. I like CR's ruggedness, reminds me of Connery. I wonder if that's where the line will be drawn, between Connery and Moore, so Connery fans would like CR and Moore fans wouldn't.

Either way I can totally respect, some of us prefer the gentleman that Flemming intended, and other's prefer Connery's take on the character.

You make a good point man, I've read alot about Flemings thoughts on the film Dr.No and to be honest I think his idea of Bond would not be as successful or memorable as the man is today.

I had my doubts about Daniel Craig, but after that teaser, He has all of my respect.
The trailer made Bond films seem completely different, which is a good thing.

Well his idea of Bond was Roger Moore. Is that the definitive Bond? I'm not touching that one with a 10 foot pole.

Exactly! Flemming's book, Goldfinger was pure BS, the movie was superior.

Cuz your new for future reference that is not a good post. You basically said his argument is bad simply because he has a different opinion. Many people, myself included think Micheal Keaton did a good job as Batman. This is a good post,

nobody said that bond had to be a pretty boy and not have blonde hair. the only pretty boy bond there ever was IMO pierce brosnan. and roger moore and sean connery were a bit blondish.
