The thing is.... IF the Hurricanes are meant to win the Cup, I wish they did it last night. It would have been nice for them to win in front of their fans, and maybe it could have garnered a bit more hockey pride for their team in Ralleigh.

Having said that, if Edmonton can win at home, where they should, it'll set up a nice game 7 where anything can happen.

I would have said this even if the Oil had lost, BEST GAME OF THIS SERIES. Good on you boys, you canes fans can post about how you will win the next one or even the next one. But don't you get it, the Oiler fans love their team .. did you not see that when the Oil lost game 4 and the fans chanted GO OILERS GO, I seen pouty faces in Carolina tonight, see the difference. You may be able to match the sound of Rexall, but you will never match the true love for this game. When the Oilers say WE, they mean them and the fans. And WE are the only ones that have believed in them. Do or Die. I BELIEVE.

for the record I'm not a Canes fan by any stretch... but the whole "we're canadian, we're better hockey fans, we love the game more" argument is a lame one.... You dont think those people in Raleigh we're living and dieing with each play last night? Wow you saw pouty faces when the Canes lost, funny I remember the same befuttled look on many an Edmonton fan the other night. I'm sure no one there will look dejected if the Canes are parading around your rink with the Cup on Saturday night either right...

NC is tarheel & nascar country. IF Edmonton wins the Stanley Cup, it will actually mean more HERE than over there. Carolina is fair weather fans. They only care if their team makes the cup final, otherwise, its no biggie. Rexall is almost sold out for next year already.... can the same be said of the RBC centre?

I think not.

GO OILERS GO!

The Hurricanes were just as lucky. All their goals were on the power play. One of those pp's was from a bogus call. One of those goals shouldn't have even happened.

The Oil might still lose, I'm not overly confident, but I believe they now have the momentum. Weight might be injured. They can win 3 in a row. They've done it before in these playoffs-in fact they won four against San Jose.

I really hope this series goes down to the wire and proves to be exciting... Perhaps then we won't have to watch games on OLN next year.

Well the Hurricanes have only been in North Carolina for 9 years and only in Raleigh for 7. Now they have been to the finals twice in the past 7 years. Originally the fans cheered for icings. Edmonton has had hockey for atleast 100 years, and the Oilers franchise has been around since 1972 back in the good ol'WHA days. And 5 Stanley Cup wins.

Cabbie from The Score took a trip to the RBC Centre in the fall/winter and did two segments. One was him tailgating and the other walking around the arena. The fans seemed very passionate and everyone dressed in some sort of Hurricanes clothing. He did interview a fan and say that the people in Raleigh only support winners and will only show up if the team is winning. Look at the team's attendence this year. However, having they had their best year and played great since October, it took a long time for sellouts or near sellouts.

This series shows two things, imo.

1. Why grinder players really make the best coaches, as opposed to superstars. Mactavish, when he played was a grinder player. Hhe was a top player in the NHL, because he had to learn every trick in the book to keep up with his fellow superstars, Messier or Gretzky. As a result, he learned a lot and is able to pass this knowledge on to his players, as opposed to Gretzky, who is trying to be a good coach, but not doing as well.

Well the he didn't have that great of a team, I think he did better than most people expected. Plus his the health issue with his mother and then the gambling scandal that invovled his assistant coach and wife. MacTavish has been coaching for fair amount of time. Gretzky probably would've been better off as a GM. Compared to other coaches who no prior expience, he did pretty well. And other first year coaches this season have had expierence. His friend Randy Carlyle coached in the IHL, was an assistant with the Capitals and then coached the AHL's Moose and brought them to the West Final last year. We'll see how teams do in the off season and how things go from there.

Guess what? I walked up to the gate and bought two tickets two hours before game time. It wasn't game 7, but it's still pretty sad anyway

That is downright brutal...and most definatley sad :down

In Calgary during the '04 season you couldn't even sell your soul for playoff tickets...most people had to enter a draw to win the right to buy tickets!

There are auctions right now for Oilers stanley cup tickets that can go up to 20 grand

For that price you could fly your whole family to Carolina and get tickets for everyone for Game 7 and still have enough money to go to Disney world....

If I had tickets that went for that, I would probably sell them and just sit my ass down somewhere else with my 20 thousand

considering there will be no more OLN next year, the excitement level doesnt really matter

Hhhmm... well this is very interesting. Erik Cole slipped to Denver got an MRI and was cleared to play in tonight's game.

Prime Minister Harper couldn't have worn a Oilers or even Team Canada jersey?

Only three other teams have battled back from a 3-1 deficit to win Game 6 at home and force a seventh game. They are the 1994 Vancouver Canucks, 1987 Philadelphia Flyers and 1954 Montreal Canadiens.

The only team to erase a 3-1 deficit to win the Cup is the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs, who came back from 3-0 down to beat the Detroit Red Wings.

People in Edmonton must have been going crazy tonight.

They are, believe me.

There are at least 50,000 on Whyte ave tonight.

There will be at least 100,000 on Monday night if Oilers win.

Oilers made history by being the first NHL team last seeded in the playoffs to be in the final and possibly win the cup.

Pisani's goal in game five was also the first short hand goal in a final series in NHL history.

It`s been a really fun ride for the Oilers this year, I hope they win the cup.
I love cinderella stories.

Why don't you go up to a hockey player and call them a Cinderella?

Tomorrow is going to be off the chains tomorrow. And if they win, the party that would happen
