Tonight is the night. Who goes home a winner? Who goes home a loser? Who will be able to stand Jimmy Fallon's shtick? Find out tonight!!!!! :awesome:

Mad Men's one a bazillion awards already. It doesn't need anymore.

Lost will be overlooked in the winnings, because it's a science fiction show.

Mad Men deserves every award it's nominated for.

They've reached the point that most people I know just kinda groan when they win. It's good for them to get attention they do probably deserve, but when they sweep everytime. It's rather annoying.

You wouldn't be saying that if Glee won everything. :oldrazz:

Conan deserves the win but Colbert or SNL will get it. Oddly enough I think Stewart threw it to make way for Conan or Colbert. I mean, Conan submitted his finale, Colbert submitted the episode where he visited the troops and Obama appeared via sattelite, and Stewart submitted some random episode where he interviewed a historian. Certainly not his best of the year. I think Stewart threw it so I doubt he'll win.

As for other categories, I think this COULD be Dexter's year, but more likely than not we'll see Lost win most of the drama categories for nostalgia purposes. Though I think his excellent performance combined with the sympathy vote, Hall will win best actor at least.

Larry David SHOULD win best lead actor in a comedy series but he will probably lose to either Parsons or Baldwin with Shaloub as a dark horse because its their last chance to give him one. Curb should also win best comedy, but Modern Family or Glee will.

I can see [BLACKOUT]The Walking Dead[/BLACKOUT] getting at least one award next year.

I can see Glee winning in the musics and comedy's.

I don't think Glee will win much aside from Best Supporting Actress. The cast isn't strong enough to compete with any of the other nominees in their categories and Modern Family seems destined to be the Best Comedy Series. Glee is at this point the dark horse for that award with Modern Family being the front runner that is lengths ahead.

May as well merge these two threads into one giant Emmy one.

I love Modern Family. I like Glee. Hope Lynch wins for Supporting Actress and Modern Family wins for Best Comedy Series.

Conan deserves the win but Colbert or SNL will get it.
I disagree there. I think nominating Conan was pretty much serving notice of intent to give him the award.

My guesses:

MAD MEN (could lose to either fellow AMC drama Breaking Bad or nostalgia for Lost)
MODERN FAMILY (could lose to Glee; I prefer the latter, which is a more experimental show, but MF is more polished)
Edie Falco, NURSE JACKIE
Jim Parsons, THE BIG BANG THEORY
Ty Burrell, MODERN FAMILY (potential upset if the MF nominees split the vote too much and let Colfer win)
Jane Lynch, GLEE
Michael C. Hall, DEXTER
Julianna Marguilies, THE GOOD WIFE
Andre Braugher, MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE
Christina Hendricks, MAD MEN
TONIGHT SHOW WITH CONAN O’BRIEN

If Colfer wins it will be, quite simply, a disgrace. Especially when you consider all the great actors who weren't even nominated in favor the academy giving their new pet show a nomination in every category.

Colfer's work on Glee has been widely praised; numerous commentators have singled him out as a darkhorse that they would like to see win.

Given that this is his first role, he probably won't, though (he's a prime candidate for "he'll have many future opportunities" decisions that would favour one of the older nominees).

Conan has been nominated before. 5 times to be exact. This is his 6th nomination. Plus, the Emmy's have never been kind to Coco. For example, from 1996 till 2009, Late Night was nominated for Best Writing. It won once. Once in 13 years. This year, his Tonight Show got 4 nominations. 3 of them were given out at last weekend's Creative Arts Emmys. It lost all 3. So, I agree with Matt. The Colbert Report is the likely winner.

His field was suprisingly competitive this year. Look at the number and calibre of some of the snubs in just that category:

Chevy Chase (Community), Danny DeVito (Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Ted Danson (Bored to Death), Jeff Garlin (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Ranin Wilson (The Office), Ed O'Neill (Modern Family), Adam Baldwin (Chuck), Dule Hill (Psych), Bruce Campbell (Burn Notice), Zach Galifianakis (Bored to Death), and Tim Dekay (White Collar). The argument could even be made for Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander on Curb.

You could not in a million years convince me that Colfer gave a better performance than any of these gentlemen and deserves the nod over any of them. His nomination was strictly political IMO.

Conan isn't even the dark horse, that's the sad part. SNL is due to the Betty White episode being the one that was submitted (which was in all fairness, the best episode in years). I'd love to see him win, but NBC has probably gone to great lengths to ensure that such an embarrassment will not happen.

Only six people can get nominated, so tons will inevitably get left out. Colfer is a popular actor on a popular show who has been widely acclaimed for his work, as an actor (he has had some of the most emotionally involving material on the show from audience reactions) and a singer.

Its not the grammies so singing shouldn't be used to put him ahead of countless others who gave a BETTER PERFORMANCE THAN COLFER.

If GLEE gets anything outside of Lynch I will be very upset. Love the show, but they don't deserve any nominations outside of Lynch.
