The 2016 Democratic Candidates

There already was a draft Biden moment. He shot them down. He's not running. Period. End of story. The logistics are too great for him.

Also, Lincoln Chaffee has dropped out.

I'd put a caveat on Biden.

Suppose Clinton emails come out and really undermine her competency or character?

Her negative rating right now is over 50%. Has anyone ever won with a 50% of higher negative rating? Let's say it climbs to 60%.

Sanders can't win. Many of Hillary's delegates could " Draft Joe "

After his debate performance, I would say no. No he wasn't.

That was Bernie vs Bilary show.

I am still trying to understand how Bilary won that debate. All she kept harping on was her gender, W Bush and Republicans.

Well if you were a Web supporter and you don't like the lead candidate harping on Republican policies, then it's safe to say that you don't represent the demographic of the party as it is today.

I mean, Web was better than most Republican candidates to be sure, but you're just not gonna find a lot of support for the hawkish Democrats these days..... luckily.

Anyone know where I can watch the full Benghazi hearing? I'm def not gonna watch the entire 11 hrs, but I wanna skip around, or at least watch the highlights.

ok attacking GOP is fine but constantly bringing her gender was seriously off putting. It was almost like "vote for me just because I am a woman"

While a conservative I am so for Bernie's idea of breaking up the banks. I want to go one step more break up all the media companies.

I'll go one further. banks, the media and political parties. ;)

I grew up punk rock and was all about Anarchy until I got old enough to realize the actual privilege I was afforded by this country to even have the right to think and say the stuff I did. But capitalism has def run out of control in this country and it's been that way for a hot minute. We need government oversight keeping these money hungry corporations in check because it's pretty damn obvious that when left to their own devices they will do anything to increase their profit margins. And we need laws in place to ensure these companies can't buy their favorite candidate and get anything they want passed to avoid it too

What are you some sort of socialist commie?!?!:argh:

:o

Well, I hope Wolf Blitzer is happy. Lincoln Chafee dropped out.

It really makes me sad seeing Lincoln Chafee's face on camera. It always looked like he was going to cry. The way Wolf Blitzer attacked him was very unprofessional and I wish there were repercussions for such rude behavior.

There isn't a caveat. It isn't happening. And while the emails reinforce my personal negative perception of Hillary, in the end, let's face it, we all know how it's going to end. Nothing illegal is discovered (the Clintons are too smart not to cross that line) and the Republicans will overplay their hand yet again turning serious concerns into a farce.

It amazes me the Republicans couldn't see this being the most likely outcome. They took an issue which should be a negative for Hillary and Hillary only and turn it into one that negative for both Hillary and the entire Republican party in general.

The smartest thing they could have did a couple days ago was just go into the hearings and ask her legitimate questions(ie non leading questions) and avoided talking about the emails or asking her about personal relationships that have nothing to do with Benghazi and cut out their personal rants, then point the fingers at the Democrats as a bunch of partisan hacks, but they couldn't even do that

Republicans think might is right.

If they push hard enough they'll win.

But it backfires every time.

It looks and smells like corruption because you have people entrusted as leaders exploiting their security and justice positions simply to obtain power and smite political enemies.

I think it is a real shame Biden decided not to run. He's a proven negotiator and deal maker while at the same time staying true to his ideals. While I may not agree with all of his politics, he certainly has my respect.

GOP saw Benghazi as their Swift Boat for Hillary, and because (they thought) it went so well for them last time, they are going to drag this issue for as long as possible so they can torpedo her candidacy. But I think they definitely went overboard and will likely be perceived negatively as a result of that 11 hour farce they called hearing.

Btw, I'm really bummed that Biden decides not to run, because I believe he has a greater chance to be elected than either Bernie or Hillary. I hope there's still a way for him to enter the race later, though.

Biden did the right thing staying out of the race. His son just died (something I forgot about), he's tired, and his heart isn't in it. Why do y'all want a burnt out, sad, uninterested Biden running for president? It'd be a waste of everyone's time.

Jeez, how long does it take you guys to do stuff? We had our elections and everything was done inside three months. I'd go nuts if I actually had to pay attention to anyone whining to be president for two years.

Hey, we have BILLIONS in contributions to spend or launder. You can't do sums like that in 3 months!

Hippie,

I think you underestimate the attack data yet to be released. It seems like Hillary has been in campaign mode for over a decade, but she never became the party nominee, so the best adds in concept were never shown.

People can have their own political opinions, but one thing they almost universally agree is they don't like liars and coverups.

There is plenty of material already. For example Hillary privately tells her daughter is was an organized terrorist attack, then she tells the public a video sparked the attack. Can you see a commercial here? How about one that shows she took money from Iran, and used the Clinton's foundation for some questionable stuff?

Can and Hillary can't afford a higher negative rating? Maybe 3-5% more max. Then she's toast.

Her own words can sink her even if the legal investigation has not....YET. And I say yet because the FBI is on the case. Those guys are good. Let's be reasonable here if you or I wrote 30,000 emails might there be something objectionable on it in the public eye? Of course, and it doesn't have to be related to politics. This is read meat for those who want to attack her and a smelling garbage dump for those mildly support Clinton. Enough to make them not vote for her or stay home.

Once hit, Clinton has a way of making things worse for herself. It's in her DNA.

She also looks very old and has some medical issues.

Biden said he's out of time to mount a campaign. Perhaps that is true for now. But if Hillary is badly damaged are you telling me he won't give it a try if the polls and opportunity make time far less of an issue?

Washington Post is reporting that Martin O'Malley's campaign is on the verge of financial collapse.

I heard him here in Houston this week....he is not the Biden that we have known, that is for sure. The loss of his son has hit him much harder than I think anyone realizes. All I wanted to do was go up and give him a hug...:csad:

Out of curiosity, how many poor men or poor companies have you worked for?

Capitalism and the nations who practice it have better standards of living than socialists nations in general.

I do agree with your statement"

^^^ That fits Hilliary Clinton perfectly. But you're still going to vote for her.

Funny how there was a Democratic debate tonight and almost no one on here is talking about it.
