If Trump says he agrees to the debates and presents 3 dates, the first of which is on Fox News on Sept 4, how do we know he won't back out of the ABC and NBC ones? If Fox have censored Harris or moderated it unfairly, Trump will think that's all that needs to be said and won't think there's any necessity for the other two. It might be a kind of trap.

I can see this easily. Trump cannot be trusted to keep his word at anything.

I can almost guarantee you that Sept 10 will be the first debate and then they'll talk. Trump knows he's floundering, isn't getting his name in the news cycle, and is desperate to turn things around. Otherwise, he wouldn't have done yet another about face and agreed (after agreeing and then pulling out) to this debate.

Harris knows she's in the driver's seat and will use that to get as favorable conditions as possible for any further debates.

Assuming the handlers want him to do it. Because, uhhh, Trump seems to be having some issues. That even the media is struggling to carry water for him. Because the Trump we have seen the past week? May have looked fine compared to Biden. But against Harris?

Trump thought he had this totally in the bag and could use his full playbook against Biden. This change of candidate (plus the 2 VP picks being so different in quality) has completely wrecked him. If this advantage persists with no own goals and no positive for Trump till the debate, he will likely keep deteriorating and getting angrier, bitter and less in control of what he’s saying. Could be a right state by the time of the debate.
