Sadly, I honestly don't even know if such a "faux pas" would even sink Trump's political career these days. I don't have faith in such things anymore.

If he loses now I can't see him having any chance when he's 4 years older and further deteriorated (with a 4 year term after that), and likely against this same Harris Walz team as incumbent. More Republicans will probably have had enough of him by then as his record for them won't have been that great having cost them 2 elections out of 3.

With any luck, Trump will be in federal prison by 2028. (Although I'm not holding my breath that it will actually happen. )

Trump thought he had this totally in the bag and could use his full playbook against Biden. This change of candidate (plus the 2 VP picks being so different in quality) has completely wrecked him. If this advantage persists with no own goals and no positive for Trump till the debate, he will likely keep deteriorating and getting angrier, bitter and less in control of what he’s saying. Could be a right state by the time of the debate.

Trump should just debate Harris as if he's debating Biden. He can keep referring to her as Sleepy Joe and how he's older than Trump and clearly losing his mind.
