The Adventures of Tintin

Really, the thing is that it'll be seen as just another adventure flick. A la "The Center of the Earth". It won't be special. Unless the whole movie is CG.
Honestly, I think that was just a gimmick movie to do something in 3D for the kiddies. The impression I'm getting with Tintin is a quality story, with drama, comedy, and action/adventure, that just happens to have some groundbreaking animation techniques being used.

the whole movie IS gonna be CG. it'll be a stylized film with photorealistic CG.

yeah...the fact that it'll be a stylized photorealistic CG movie that will able to be seen in 3D (along with Spielberg and PJ being involved) makes me interested in this flick. i never really cared for the Adventures of Tin Tin until i heard about this project.

what're you talkin' about? Minority Report was cool!

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
War of the Worlds
Minority Report
Amistad
The Lost World: Jurassic Park

:down
And all those movies were still better than a lot of the garbage others have released.

Who are these so called "others"?

The Good, The Bad, The Weird was better action/adventure popcorn flick than Indy IV could ever dream to be.
Cloverfield was better alien invasion film than War of the Worlds.

I just died a little inside.

Wow in God's name was it happy happy?!

Countless bodies floating in the river with a little girl watching? A plain crashing in fron tof a house, countless bodies, a father running around with people being zapped out of their skins, with their skins being on Cruise and has to brush them off, a son who runs into the line of fire, Cruise killing a man while a girl is forced to not look. Freaking aliens invading earth.

The son didn't die.

yeah, i didn't buy that (the son surviving). or it wasn't written well enough that it could work. Also the fact that the family and the house was okay at the end.

Too bad that the thread got so off topic. But hell, I might aswell just put in my 2 cents about the War of the Worlds movie. They should have just adapted the original novel (which is brilliant) and have it take place in 1898. I mean, an Alien Invasion flick taking place in that time would be much, much cooler than lazily updating the story to 2005.

I think setting it contmepary was the way to go, I didn't want see a bunch of ye olde speaking farmers vs Aliens, I loved the movie.

Anyway, is this gonna be more aimed at kids than say the Indy market ?

I didn't want see a bunch of ye olde speaking farmers vs Aliens,

I would have LOVED to see that. That would have made it something special, instead of the generic, over directed Cruise vehicle (riddled with GAPING plotholes aswell, and I never really are about plotholes) that we got.

Also, it should have take place in England. Every ****ing Alien movie takes place in America.

Sorry, for going even further off-topic.

Monsters vs. Aliens....we are the country aliens ever seem to land in.

I disagree, I hate it when movies are set in my country and I felt it worked much better as it was, rather than the farmers angle that led to me giving up on the book after a few chapters.

I'd argue the so called "plot holes"" but then we'd really fly off topic. ;)

Off topic, but the guys that did that Homer and Mario just did Stewie...

Is that in regards to the movie and context at hand, or do you just generally dislike all films set in England/Britain?

the dots on the face are interesting. they are glowing like they are lighting itself. the black suits are also different .

on the wall in the background we see pics.
