The Age old Debate -- PCs vs Macs

For me, I've used other people's Macs and seen a feature and thought it was kind of nifty, but never enough to go out and get one. It's kind of a case of, "This Macbook seems really good, but if it costs $1900 as opposed to an equivalent Dell for 1100, I'll deal with the worse interface and occasional glitchiness."

I dunno. You start tweaking PC's so that the components are comparable and you'll be up in the same price range or more as a Mac. The great thing about Macs these days is that they can run Windows natively in a dual-boot configuration or with virtualization software like Parallels. And, the longevity of Macs is much longer. I set my in-laws up with a six year old iMac that still runs the latest and greatest Mac OS. PC's can't do that with Windows. Plus, Macs come with a better software suite out of the box for creativity at home with the iLife suite. At least you've used Macs a little bit before forming an opinion, which is more than most folks do.

Personally, I prefer PCs. For what it's worth, I know more about the inner workings and have more accessibility to PCs than I do Macs. Not that I'm AGAINST Macs by any means, just that PCs work better for me.

Macs. And that's coming from a former Windows NT SysAdmin.

I just bought a new computer and its a PC. I wanted a MAC, I really want a g5 but they cost too much. One day. Programs (pro tools, final cut pro, adobe Word) to me are just easier to use on a mac. Besides they look really nifty

Exactly thats y im gettin a macbook pro. Im in the audio productin field and macs are the standard in the industry. PCs are dull compared to macs.

Right know i just what my school has. Pro Tool 7.0 LE on a digi 002 and a Control 24. I dont realy want to get into music. I just want to edit and sound design. One day, i will have a G5 FCP, PT and mix board. one day. *dreams*

I like PC's better, but PC's are killing Mac's in the poll.

A Mac is better than some think, but for me, that's not saying much.
