Santa Claus: The Movie (1985)

First time seeing this. Apparently it's one of the most popular Christmas movies of all time in the UK.

They have good taste across the pond because I found this absolutely delightful! Roger Ebert described the movie as "thin" and that is undoubtedly true. However, watching this brought back feelings of being a kid again on Christmas Eve.

And at this time of the year, that's good enough for me :yay:

The idea of burying a Christmas Capsule is funny to me for some reason. Especially when it's just buried in the neighbor's yard.

Ah yes. The traditional situation of a Duke needing to find a date for an event, so he invites the first woman he meets. A classic Christmas Conundrum. Gotta say, I know a lot of the men in the movies I've been watching have been lowkey really ugly, but this dude takes the cake.

Also, man if I keep sticking with Prime's selection of films, this will be the only White Christmas I'll be experiencing.

Truthfully, when I put a lot of these on, I'm only like half paying attention. I read the description, press play, and then go do whatever while occasionally peaking back up at the movie. Alas, doing that with this caught my attention because I knew I recognized the female lead but couldn't place the face. Start looking her up, and oh yeah. It's DJ Tanner. A MAGA piece of ****. Then it made me realize the last two movies I had watched before this one were all from Great American Family channel, which is basically Hallmark but EXTRA EXTRA racist.

Explains a lot considering how empty of any kind of charm/wonder those movies had. Hell, this one's plot is kicked off with a soldier being an absolute creep to a doctor, but in one of those cringe MAGA "giga chad" ways.

Oh yeah Great American Family is ran by the former CEO of Hallmark Channel who left the company because he felt the parent company was too liberal by pushing more minorities into their programming like queer people and racial minorities.

Which holiday do you guys watch Nightmare Before Christmas on?
