Why not a hose-hand? Better than a hook

Dude, the water hand was the ****. Given to him by the lady of the lake, it nullifies all magic, and keeps him from having to return to the sea. It's all kinds of awesome.

My personal vision for an Aquaman movie would start with Arthur similar to how he is presented in Justice League - long hair, weathered, one handed, cynical and a bit bitter. Then have this version of Aquaman tell his story where we see him start off as the classic Aquaman - orange and green suit, clean cut look, an underwater Superman. The story should pit Black Mantra vs. Arthur and end with the Black Mantra killing his kid, leading to Aquaman's becoming the darker version he is now.

My Aquaman would be a real dick and would preferable be played by Kiefer Sutherland.

I've never been able to enjoy the bitter jerk Aquaman because being a bitter jerk is Namor's schtick. One underwater *****e is enough, I think.

You can't kill a young kid in a comic film. It's like a rule.

They could kill him, I just don't think they would show it. I'm sure there must've been PG-13 movies where kids die.

I just don't see it happening, maybe claiming he's dead and he comes back in the 2nd part, and then dies.

You also can't kill a love interest in a Superhero film.

A dark, bitter Aquaman is exactly the sort of film that Warner Bros. would look for after The Dark Knight.

X-Men 2, Blade 2, and Daredevil all killed off the the love interest before TDK.

It's not the same thing as killing off a kid.

Sure there are. Heck even in the last PotC movie, one of the pirates/thieves that is sent to the gallows at the start of the movie was a kid.

Elektra and Jean came back.

Blade 2 is irrelevant simply because it wasn't a "blockbuster" superhero flick - it was rated R.

Aquaman's Brave and the Bold look would be pretty good for a movie. A nice mixture of new and old.

It got the basic idea right--beard + classic costume variant is the way to go--but it still has the dishwashing gloves and the black undies over his pants. I'd prefer Patrick Gleason's Sub Diego redesign, just with a beard:

So it's kind of like Time & Tide?

Personally, I'd like to see The Ocean Master, but always liked Black Manta :o as well. The one you're advocating for is possibly a sex fiend. Possibly homosexual. Should remember to investigate further.

Black Manta should be the villain, and he should be awesome, like a underwater Bobba Fett.

Yeah, but the Fetts were always just lackeys working for the big masterminds. I like the idea of Ocean Master as the big bad and Black Manta as his badass muscle.

I pictured something like Ocean Master hiring Black Manta to kill Aquaman.

That'd be cool. I guess they could make Black Manta the main villain of the first one by drawing out the cat-and-mouse game between him and Arthur, actually. Then Ocean Master could attack Arthur himself in the second movie, resulting in the death of Arthur's son and the loss of his hand, and then the third movie could deal with the water hand and the Thirst, maybe. Although the Thirst was kind of a lame villain. I don't know, maybe they could bring back a true Arthurian legend villain, like Morgaine Le Fey or Mordred to fight Arthur.

Agree. I still thnk Aquaman as maybe not so great vilians in the comics book but could be interesting to see in the big screen.

Yea i know i know very little on aquaman and his villains but if they take it seriously and make the right decisions it could turn out to be a great film on the lines of im/spider-man films/ bb-tdk/etc....

I didn't mind the way he looked in B&B but I hated the way they portrayed him in that show.

He seemed like a jackass to me. No wonder his brother hated him.
