The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Blu-Ray/DVD Countdown Thread

Th movie made 700 million worldwide, it cost 250 million to make. That's not a smash hit, but saying it "barley made profit os overexagerating. No offense, socool.

You're forgetting the costs for marketing. And the majority of that $700 million came from overseas which = less of a return. Socool is on point about the movie barely making a profit.

It's not. Sony is not going to put any more editing into a film that barely made a profit.

Budget was around $250 according to reports and marketing was $180 also according to reports. That's a total of $430. Worldwide gross is $705 so they made around basically what the movie cost.

Doesn't take into account what the movie made from product placement which often can be a huge return.

I guess it comes down to what your definition of "barley" is. I think Barley would be costing 140 million and making 150 million. The movie did make sony money, and I'm sure they also made money from product placement and such. Certainly a disappointment, but by no means a failure.

It seems you don't know how box office profits work. The box office thread has some good discussions in it about profits.

Almost less than a month :)
Or less if you pirate it, and I wont ;)

Deadline originally reported that if the movie grossed $750 million WW w/ their total expense of $455 million in costs, Sony would make about a 20% return on investment. So that means to break even the movie would need to make $600 million WW.

Therefore, Sony will probably get about a 15% return on investment.

You didn't see it in theaters?

15 days until digital release :)
Digital release is such a tease. Not too much of a fan of it because it's not "the real thing" if you know what I mean. Or it's just not blu-ray quality haha.

I think I've decided on the magno case with Best Buy. Looks so sweet.

Looks like that trailer has some deleted footage from the truck chase.

I know how box office works. I'm not a complete moron. Well, hopefully I'm not anyway, lol.
