I paid €17 for the PC version. Which is around $23-24.

I hate to sound like a broken record (especially since I won't be buying the game) but it drives me bananas that all of these games since WoS have been steps backwards in gaming from SM2, USM, SM3, and WoS.

How is this okay? Why are you people still buying these games? It was the success of SD that led to Activision keeping Beenox on the SM franchise. You guys shouldn't just buy something because Spider-Man's name is on it. Look at reviews, compare gameplay, watch videos. If it's crap, speak with your wallet and don't frigging buy it.

The very fact that a game from ten years ago continues to be the benchmark for the series is crazy and just shows how little the people understand gaming. They might understand Spider-man but they don't understand what makes for a Spider-Man gaming experience.

Studios like High Moon understood Transformers AND what makes for a good Transformers Game. Sure they had a bad game out of 3 but IMO Beenox has yet to have a true Spider-Man experience. There is nothing in their first two outings that couldn't have been done by any random character you stick in there. Sure ASM had an open New York and some webswinging but it could have been just as easily turned into Just Cause 3 or something.

The mechanics were already in place 10 years ago. It's just crazy.

I'm surprised people aren't just renting it instead of paying full price. You'll likely have plenty of time to beat it AND you'll be giving Activision less money.
I won't pay them full price for anything after shutting down Radical Entertainment, I love [PROTOTYPE] games, wish we could have had more games like it
At least that arc came to a nice end with everything being wrapped up well

How did you manage to get about 40% discount?

I got the first one cause it returned to free roam, and it is a fun game after a bunch of 'bleh' game in my opinion
Although swinging in it is a major downgrade, even when compared to the previous outings of Beenox

I was going to wait and try the game once it hit Redbox, but after seeing this ridiculously sanctimonious post, I'm going to go out on my lunch break and buy it full price, just for you. :o

You really think we don't watch gameplay or read reviews? This is SHH, for God's sake.

And what we spend our money on, isn't really your problem, now is it? :yay:

I enjoyed the first one, this improved upon that, which automatically means I'll like it. I loved all the gameplay that was shown, enjoyed the trailers. The graphics aren't great, but certainly not "As bad as PS2" like a some people joke about. Playing the game and loving it, the only thing I don't like is the cut scenes/ loading screens with every side mission

well you see, that's pretty much my point. You guys continuing to buy crap games, giving them the greenlight to continue making them, is the problem.

Man, you'll sure teach me a lesson by spending $60 of your money on a ****** game. I've been put in my place.

...
Looks good
Sky web yoyo? Or is there a suspended part of a building you hanged him from?

There was a bridge connecting the 2 factory buildings together. The webline, however, floated slightly past the bridge into outer space.

LOL
Is the yoyo an upgrade?

No, and it's no yoyo. I was holding onto the swinging trigger and wrote a message on my phone and when I stopped swinging I entered that position automatically. There is a rappel move though you can start from any ceiling and a lot of pipes/lampposts etc (if they are thin enough and have room below).

It worked similarly in WoS. If you stopped your swinging (from the clouds no less lol) you'd go into the YOYO pose. SM3 was best for this if that's your thing.

That's a bit disappointing, I was hoping for a controlled web yoyo
At least it confirms the web swing is not on auto pilot

Same happened with NOIR Spidey in Shattered Dimensions

I just cleared the main story (it was longer than expected, but not the best story out there) and I had a blast.

It's a great Spidey game, not perfect, but pretty good. It improves TASM 1 in everything (except loading screens!). I have to do a lot of thing yet in the map (mainly photo missions and races).

How is this compared to the first game? I thought TASM 1 was boring and I probably played it for less than 1 hour, but I think part of that was because the loading screens were long and I was already bored before I started playing.

There are a LOT of loading screens. In PS3 and 360 are annoying, but in PC (my version) and PS4 are pretty quick (I'm guessing XOne too).

Loading screens -from what I saw- last less in this one

So if we enjoy the game we shouldn't buy it because it's a step back in one of the mechanics of an old game?

What a stupid pretentious post, you understand gaming more than others that enjoy this game, why?

SM2 had better webswinging that's it, combat was absolute **** in that game and so was the story. I don't understand why you are telling people who enjoy games like these to not buy them. If they like them, they like them, stop trying to act like your opinion is more valid than anyone else's.

There is a controlled web yoyo? Like I said, you can enter the "web yoyo" mode at any time by pressing your left stick when sticking to a ceiling or walking/sitting on a lamppost etc.
You can only go up/down and rotate though, no swinging in web yoyo.

Hey, look I absolutely agree with you. If you genuinely like these games, then you should buy them. But if you like them because you like Spider-Man and you're just willing to deal with a bad game because of that, then you shouldn't buy it. There is a big difference between the two.

I get it man, I bought ASM because I thought it was a return to form. It wasn't. It's still in my game drawer. I spent the $60. I did it because I love Spider-Man. I'm just as guilty. But seeing this game being crapped out (and it's not just me saying this, look at your fellow SHHers who have also played it; bad story, short, glitches, etc) and not hearing what the fans and almost literally every review of ASM said, well it just amazes me.

Also the combat in SM2 was amazing. Maybe you just weren't very good at it. *SHRUG* just saying.

Meh, I'm not going to **** on your guys' good time. Glad some of you like the game. Let me know when the new "Next Spider-Man game" thread starts up.
