Hey, look I absolutely agree with you. If you genuinely like these games, then you should buy them. But if you like them because you like Spider-Man and you're just willing to deal with a bad game because of that, then you shouldn't buy it. There is a big difference between the two.

I get it man, I bought ASM because I thought it was a return to form. It wasn't. It's still in my game drawer. I spent the $60. I did it because I love Spider-Man. I'm just as guilty. But seeing this game being crapped out (and it's not just me saying this, look at your fellow SHHers who have also played it; bad story, short, glitches, etc) and not hearing what the fans and almost literally every review of ASM said, well it just amazes me.

Okay well then I apologize for my tone in the last post because the way you spell it out here makes a lot more sense to me. I bought the game, I paid 35 for it cause I had a coupon at Gamestop that expired this month. Nothing else is coming out for my PS4 so I bit, I also really enjoyed ASM1 and that was the main reason for my purchase. I enjoy the game more than I did ASM1 so far.

Fun fact: I literally purchased my Xboxone in anticipation of this game.

I think you may be talking to the wrong crowd lol, Because WE are the ones that review it. WE are the spider-man fans. We WANT to buy it and have that experience. WE want to use our money as we see fit...

And WE are the ones that will cause beenox or activision to make the changes they need. Everyone seemed fine with asm, but this effort will see even more vocal feedback for beenox to change clearly.

Just generally speaking now, not toward you personally or anything. I'm sorry you bought an Xbox One in anticipation for a Beenox game of all things. I feel for you.

No real gamer listens to "game journalists" or "ign reviews" **** that noise! you have to play it for yourself and buy it for yourself. If you love video games, you buy video games, speak your own mind to the companies that make them. Not let other people ("professional gamers" ha) influence your own mind.

Now casuals are a different story, I understand they want reviews and all of that other useless crap and there's no convincing them otherwise, but they aren't as concerned or care as much. But I buy games that I want to buy and I play them without any outside influence telling me it's ****, or that it's great. That way I can have my most honest thoughts and personal feelings on it.

I've played and LOVED so many "crappy games" in fact my favorite game of all time was critically panned. I've also played games that were rated "10 outta 10" or "you gotta play this!" Games and have completely hated them.

Just because It's a mediocre game doesn't mean I regret buying it one bit. I didn't pay 60 dollars for it, because I bought it on the ps3 knowing it was the exact same. I had coupons, trade credit, they give me 20.00 credit for movie tickets, its a decent deal. I wanted to know how it played and needed to play the newest spider-man game to know. I'm enjoying it for what it is, but will absolutely speak my mind as a spider-man fan on what we should have for the new generation of consoles.

Honestly I love it, Great spidey game. Love the swinging, I feel like hero or menace shows just how hard it is to be spiderman. 8.5/10 looking forward to the next one, will actually play this and not trade it in like asm.

No, the combat in SM2 was garbage... I still have the game and I still think it's garbage. The only reason I still pop it in on the PS2 is to swing. Seems like I won't have to do that anymore now that this is out. I've been watching Streams of it all day on the PS4z picking it up for sure.

I love it too. I'm having fun. I wasn't expecting a masterpiece from a movie based game. I think some of you in here seem to think just cause the majority don't like it, that it's fact. Some of us are enjoying it a lot.

You're crazy son. In the 80s and 90s all we had were game reviews to help us decide what to spend our allowance on. At least then we could rent games pretty easily. But game mags and journalists were a central part of gaming. Now days when everyone has a forum and a blog, you can get opinions that run the gamete. But if you have 20 sites reviewing a game, and 18 of them say it's crap, those are 18 different people with 18 different sets of tastes and expectations coming to a consensus.

I was picking up an Xbone anyway, but this game just made me pick it up a few months earlier than I would have (and the titanfall bundle helped cement the purchase) so I'm don't bring it up to be bitter, I was mentioning to show that I was planning on owning the game prior to the youtube vids coming out.

Again, if you truly value the character, then don't just buy something because the name is on it. If you like the games, then good for you. Continue to enjoy them.

I'm curious as to how many of you who were say over the age of 16 purchased "Friend or Foe" when it came out. I mean there is "being a fan" and there is "BEING A FAN", you know?

so....is this generally the same or worse than the 1st game?

I actually liked the 1st game.....and I like Spidey........

What does it matter who bought what game or being a fan or BEING A FAN. Geeze.

Again talkin to the wrong person. Those 18 people's consensus you speak of, matter NOT to me. Your taste will always be different despite what even 100 people say. To listen to reviews and let it truly influence your mind is sad.

I grew up in the 80s-90s too friend, and I seriously just played what I wanted to play. Rented what I wanted to rent and will never regret those days. The bad games I've played, I'm so happy that I did, maybe not at the time, but it was a learning experience. You relied on reviews, not I. I've always kept the same mindset. mostly because my brother would **** his pants over reviews and I would just be confused why he wouldn't PLAY what he WANTED because of "bad reviews" or bad scores. Like I said. Some of you will alway miss out on what could be your favorite game of all time if you listen to the "consensus".

Reviews are fun AFTER you play the game for yourself, nothing more. Just like rottentomatoes, I only look at the tomatometer AFTER I see the film. I have no idea what ASM 2 is at right now and I do not care! Same goes for any movie I'm interested in.

Just because I value the character doesn't mean I buy anything with his name in it. I don't have a spider-man collection at all, And I only have 5 spider-man games, I can figure out what I'll like and not like. I LIKE the asm2 game. There just needs to be more innovation and ambition infused into beenoxs development of these games. They lost it immidiatly after shattered dimensions any even that game was just OKAY. If Treyarch could do it with a movie game on a short dev cycle 10 years ago, beenox can. They just need to find the right inspiration. Or they need to GTFO lol.

I loved friend or foe honestly. The coop was great IMO. I had it on 360. I dug it because I knew what it was going into it lol. If anyone felt ripped off buying that game it's their own damn fault.

And just because a game is geared toward children doesn't mean adults can not enjoy it.

I hope that's not your mindset, cause if it is get outta here lol.

Orion I just read like 3 pages back and all you're basically doing is non sense. Keep talking about how you don't like this game or won't buy it, it's crap. ****ting on other peoples good time that are enjoying the game. It seems like you're in this thread still trying to convince people it's bad. Leave people people those who enjoy it will pay for it and play it. If you don't intend on buying it or playing why are you still in here? See exactly, seems you're only in here to try and sway others to your way of thinking.

Friend or Foe came out in what either 07 or 08?

Wasn't 16 then in either years.

Actually every time I sign off with "Okay enjoy it, I'm glad you are" someone quotes me to confront me with a rebuttal. :BA

I just mean that the game could probably be fun to a certain age group, but that I would imagine anyone over the age of 16 wouldn't give two ****s about it.

So what? Why continue coming into this thread if you don't like the game or won't buy it or play it? I don't go into threads of films I don't intend on seeing just to tell others it's crap and they shouldn't spend their money on it. A few pages back that's exactly what you were doing.

Not true in the slightest. As I said before just because some games are geared toward children does not mean adults can't have fun with them.

I even loved the superhero squad games, especially infinity gauntlet.

I'm going into TASM2 game looking for a ok Spider-Man game. I know it ain't gonna be Spider-Man 2 or Shattered Dimensions or Batman Arkham level.

Haven't played a Spidey game SD. Seen the walkthroughs on YouTube of Edge of Time and TASM1 as well as reviews and they were mixed to not good.

TASM2 look ok. Ok enough for me to buy at $50 with 2 free movie tickets.

I dunno because I'm bored? I've been pretty consistent over the years about SM games

Are you implying that if I looked up all of your posts, I wouldn't find one where you were in a thread complaining about the topic of that thread? I'm just bored enough to try if you want me to.

God I hate the Hero or Menace system. I swear to god this is a pain in the ass. I'd like to swing around freely and actually explore the map for once (believe it or not, I didn't even visit the Oscorp tower yet apart from the few story missions leading me there) but I can't because I'm being forced to do as many side-missions as possible in order to make up for the side-missions that expire on the other side of the map. The game is so unforgiving to people who just want to explore the map without being called a menace (because you will reach the menace status within 3 minutes of not doing anything). It's also starting to drag out a lot with me entering the same burning building for the 10th time, or rescuing the same hostage from the same car for the 20th time.

I hope someone releases a mod soon locking your hero rank to level 3, because I hated the hunters in TASM1 and I'd like to not freeroam with 20 drones following me (especially since they can be taken down in 3 seconds, they're simply annoying causing cuts in my nice suit).
