Hey, look I absolutely agree with you. If you genuinely like these games, then you should buy them. But if you like them because you like Spider-Man and you're just willing to deal with a bad game because of that, then you shouldn't buy it. There is a big difference between the two.
I get it man, I bought ASM because I thought it was a return to form. It wasn't. It's still in my game drawer. I spent the $60. I did it because I love Spider-Man. I'm just as guilty. But seeing this game being crapped out (and it's not just me saying this, look at your fellow SHHers who have also played it; bad story, short, glitches, etc) and not hearing what the fans and almost literally every review of ASM said, well it just amazes me.
I think you may be talking to the wrong crowd lol, Because WE are the ones that review it. WE are the spider-man fans. We WANT to buy it and have that experience. WE want to use our money as we see fit...
And WE are the ones that will cause beenox or activision to make the changes they need. Everyone seemed fine with asm, but this effort will see even more vocal feedback for beenox to change clearly.
Just generally speaking now, not toward you personally or anything. I'm sorry you bought an Xbox One in anticipation for a Beenox game of all things. I feel for you.
No real gamer listens to "game journalists" or "ign reviews" **** that noise! you have to play it for yourself and buy it for yourself. If you love video games, you buy video games, speak your own mind to the companies that make them. Not let other people ("professional gamers" ha) influence your own mind.
Now casuals are a different story, I understand they want reviews and all of that other useless crap and there's no convincing them otherwise, but they aren't as concerned or care as much. But I buy games that I want to buy and I play them without any outside influence telling me it's ****, or that it's great. That way I can have my most honest thoughts and personal feelings on it.
I've played and LOVED so many "crappy games" in fact my favorite game of all time was critically panned. I've also played games that were rated "10 outta 10" or "you gotta play this!" Games and have completely hated them.
Just because It's a mediocre game doesn't mean I regret buying it one bit. I didn't pay 60 dollars for it, because I bought it on the ps3 knowing it was the exact same. I had coupons, trade credit, they give me 20.00 credit for movie tickets, its a decent deal. I wanted to know how it played and needed to play the newest spider-man game to know. I'm enjoying it for what it is, but will absolutely speak my mind as a spider-man fan on what we should have for the new generation of consoles.
