So I was just thinking about this. There have been 12 Rhino boss battles in Spidey games, including 2D ones. Plus his appearance in Marvel Ultimate Alliance, The Incredible Hulk for the Genesis. And given he's in this movie, we're gonna get one more.
He's in almost every Spider-Man game. The only 3D games he's not fought in are Enter Electro, Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time (console/3DS), the first film game, and Web of Shadows, but he's an assist in Web of Shadows.

I get that he's a simple character to fight, given he just charges at you, but seriously, wow.

The first game was after the events of the movie, can't this be too? Sure, Lizard was still there but he didn't need to be. Now that Rhino was in the first game they're most likely gonna avoid references to both movie and game Rhinos

If Beenox is still at charge, maybe they're doing a first game's sequel, being in the same universe as the films.

Wow, this thread has been dead for ages.
Anyways, do you guys reckon we'll see anything at E3 for this game? I hope so but doubt it.:whatever:

if they are even making one it will get announced at the VGAs late this year

After playing ASM again recently, I think Beenox failed in the 'free roam' dept. The combat was pretty good, although def needs some polish, the story was well put together enough for a movie-tie in, and the boss battles were def lacking compared to those Beenox did for SD and EoT but they were rushed due to the Sony/Marvel conflict so I don't really blame Beenox.

But the free roam was terrible. The biggest problem that I have is how there were no random crimes and everything you could do in the open world was over and done with once a certain number was completed. Everything that happens in the open world is calculated to appear at the same spots at the exact same time within the story so it's neither random nor organic. Not to mention that there was only three different crimes to stop. Isn't that the point of an open world? I really hope they fix this for the next game, assuming they're working on one. To me, ASM felt like a linear game with a big area to swing around in between story missions. Free roam was a big letdown.

I still greatly enjoyed certain aspects of the game though. The hunter fights were pretty awesome, the web rush was a really cool mechanic, and the voice acting was once again really good.

This.

The best comparison I can make is to SM3. That game had a FANTASTIC NYC.

So explorable, from the subway system to the various locations from the film itself, such as Harry's mansion.

and the random crime fighting aspect was also FAR better than that in ASM which just felt repetitive.

I think all of this just contributed to one main fact: Free Roam Spider-Man games to this point have been designed to have alot of replay value and they should. They are free roam games. That aspect alone lends itself to replay value.

ASM was just too repetitive and just too poorly designed.

I agree with the above. The free-roam in ASM failed on almost every level. In fact, almost all of the levels took place solely in doors. For the next game, Beenox really needs to utilize the city to it's fullest potential, in addition to increasing the size and accuracy of New York. Honestly, they should probably restructure the city from the ground up to make it closer to real life and to break up the monotony. I'm expecting a huge improvement in this area with the next game running on next-gen consoles (this is almost a certainty).

They need to do upgrades on a lot of the aspects but what you just said would be amazing.

Looking at games like Uncharted, Watch Dogs, The Last Of Us, GTAV just makes me thing that we'll never get a Spidey game like them titles.. Not for a few decades anyways.
When I first got TASM Game I thought it was amazing, but playing it now, well, it's ****. It had so much potential.

It would be nice to get a game where the Green Goblin is the main villain. We haven't had one in a long time. People complain about the Joker being overused in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City but at least he was...used.

I wish they would stop doing movie games and put about 2-3 years development time into making an amazing game. I'd also give the license to someone else. I've seen what Beenox can do, it's time for change. Making an awesome Spidey game isn't rocket science.

To be honest, I don't want another movie game. I prefer they do something based of the comics from a different developer and company. Something they can take their time on, base off the comics and truly give the best Spider-Man experience they can.

As long as Activision is in the picture, that ain't gonna happen.

I really hope that's the case, otherwise what's the point of having free roam? The world should feel immersive with organic events and detail. Hopefully they are designing the next game on the 'next-gen' consoles which should def help in this area.

SM2 was a great game at giving us plenty to do in the open world. Yeah, yeah, I know everyone always remembers the damn kid and his friggin balloon but don't forget that game also had something like 15 different random crimes/events to tackle. Breaking up a robbery, thugs in a getaway car, gang fight, getting ambushed by a bunch of thugs, saving people from a sinking boat, etc. There was quite a bit to do and really added to the replay value. Other than getting 100% completion and a platinum trophy, ASM had virtually no replay.

Well we can prob count on getting GG as the villain for the 3rd tie-in game. But man, all I really want is a 3 year developed comic book based game with lots of resources for the developer to make a AAA Spidey game. Sadly, this is not gonna happen for a while. :csad:

You never know, after the rumors from earlier we might just see GG in this game ;)

From Beenox Twitter:

@VenomSpawnSHH No, right now we are
pouring all of our creativity and focus into Skylanders
So they won't be at e3. Makes me wonder are they even working on a spidey game..

Probably not working on a Spidey game at the moment.
