It's so unfair... Activision owns both rights to Spider-man games and Crash Bandicoot, with the former developing sloppily delivered titles and with the latter doing absolutely nothing, just sitting on top of the licence

They don't give a **** about Spidey.
All they care about is COD. And those games are ****ing **** as well.
It's ridiculous, they really couldn't care less about making a good Spidey game. All they want is the money.

It's a sad truth, but a truth none the less

My friend, a big COD-fan, is so blind to how creedy Activision is and how little they care. He says that COD-games are totally inspired works of art and everyone of those games is totally unique

funnily enough the same guy praised McDonalds burgers to be top quality

There's something wrong with your friend :hehe:
All the COD games, look the exact same, and basically are the exact same.

Yeah I agree and its COD over saturation every freakin time I hope they just finish it off already its just continuously beating a dead horse and the cow is milked(more like overly milked)

If someone could get the license to Spidey who would you want to have them and why and what do you think they could bring to the table visually and gamplay wise?

Yeah but it'll most likely be ****, half assed and rushed.
I don't know, PS3/360 version of Spider-Man 3 was good, and came out in the first year of the consoles, so there was still a big support to PS2/GC/Xbox.

Yeah but it'll still be mediocre if Beenox are making it because they're putting all their time into another game at the moment. We need a Spidey games that's in development for at least 2-3 years with an original story.

Considering a game hasn't been announced yet, if one does come out, it will most likely suck. Maybe that means they are busy on an original. 616 Universe type game. Right now Batman is just destroying Spidey, and no, not just in terms of video games either.

Batman is destroying Spider-Man in terms of everything at the moment. It is sad for me to admit that but it is true. :csad:

Batman is my favorite so I'm happy he's kicking ass, but it is sad that Spidey hasn't reached it's potential.

To me the score and the game were the best things to come out of The Amazing Spider-Man. I still play the game all the time. It has areas to be improved upon, but hopefully if they do another one they can make it even better.

And keep the Raimi suits.

Nah we don't need the Raimi suits in the game now that we have the new suit.

Batman is my favorite and Spidey is a very close second. That is why I am dissapointed we didn't get that ideal Spider-Man game yet. :csad:

That's not true. As much of an improvment the new one is the old one is still better to me and many others. Plus the Symbiote suit was a nice touch too.

I was surprised they we're allowed to put the Raimi suits into the game, I thought that Sony might not be happy about it.

TASM 2 already has the classic costume, which if I remember correctly, you praised. Which one do you prefer: the Raimi costume or the TASM 2 costume?

Played some Batman AC last night for the first time in about 9 months or so. Seriously. What's it gonna take to get this caliber for Spidey? I feel like writing a well-organized, polite, piece of hate mail to Activision. It's not gonna do anything but it might make me feel better.

If you look at all the past Spider-man games, every one has something about it that makes it great...some unique feature or gameplay element. But each one of those games has a decent list of negatives that makes it 'average.' It would be nice to be able to somehow combine those elements.

Actually, I take it back. If Beenox stops doing Spidey games, I would love Neversoft to be the one that take the mantle.

That's if Neversoft still existed, though.

The best thing would be giving it to any other publisher. I wouldn't mind EA with Frostbite, Ubisoft or (Occidental) Square-Enix.

Right there with ya, man. Activision makes my blood boil. I'd love if they just gave up the rights. It's not like they even need it with games like COD on their hands.
Maybe in a few years they'll finally give it up. I'm surprised no other company has made a bid on the rights for Spidey.

I'd love for Ubisoft to have the rights.

He said he prefers Raimi's. Which baffles me a bit since the TASM2 suit is basically the same but without the ridiculously bold web, with more comic booky lenses and a different spider logo. Also a much more comic accurate build. But given his post history I'd say this is more of a "Raimi rules" thing for him.

Naughty Dog would be the right developer for Spider-Man games imo

Naughty Dog would be the right developer for any game. They're simply the best out there!

But more seriously, I'm not sure Naughty Dog would be the best choice for Spidey still. They've stayed to linear games all the time, with their completely own creations. I don't think they'd be too excited making a Spidey game. They rather come up with their own stuff. And they like to "steer" you with more linear level designs.

That's frustrating! They don't even need the Spidey license because it's well known that their Spidey games all suck. I don't think the income for those games is very high. I don't think they'd really miss the license if they just sold it to another publisher.

As for your last comment, I'd guess that's because Spider-Man isn't a very developer-friendly character to create games for, due to his powers and way of traveling. Take his web swinging for example. I think many of us agree that Spider-Man 2 had the best version of that. However, with that web swinging, you risk having Spidey look messy and awkward when trying to make a U-turn or land on a specific point on the ground etc. Also, it goes so fast that it'd be hard for the city skins to load in time. At the same time, if you lose the SM2 web swing, it becomes unrealistic and boring like in ASM. The combat needs to implement alot of stuff. The camera becomes hard to get right etc.

^
Yeah man, I getcha.
I just wish that somebody out there would love to take on the challenge of making an awesome Spidey game, with 2-3 development time!

I would also like to see Ubisoft do Spidey and also WD (watch dogs) looks really amazing and I feel they could nail it that one of the choises Rocksteady and the reason why I say this cause its prety funny wb is making the lego marvel game so why not lol

I like the webbing design on the Raimi suit more, mostly in the chest area.

The reflective aspect of the webbing is a great idea since real webs do that.

I like the spider symbols more.

I like the less-thick belt more.

I like the angular eyes more than the round ones. The Raimi suit tried the round eyes and it looked awful. The new round eyes are better, but the angular ones look more fierce. Round works better in the comics.

I don't know why any of that baffles you. There are plenty of differences between the two.

Yeah, I'm familiar with his post history. I have a little more respect for him seeing that he's actually being fair sometimes

Well Suckerpunch would be my next choice. They've proven themselves in the freeroam department with InFamous and Sly Cooper games. They also have a great sense of how to make agile characters. Yeah they never made the Manhattan scale of free-roam, but I'm sure it's not a problem for them
