I wouldn't be suprised if they had it earlier at this point.

I'm not buying the latest Reddit bit.

EDIT: And Faraci's piece just supports what several of us have been saying; It's too late to re-write the Civil War script to include Spidey in any meaningful way.

I just think people are throwing ideas around and adding "Sony hack" and "sources" to make it that bit more credible. Time will only tell.

That's very true, and that's been true for years. However, as I've pointed out, these giant rumors have a history of being true, most of them at least.

That could have referred to the female spinoff film for 2017 from some time ago. Sinister Six is still on the list as well.

Nothing is set in stone. All of these things were planned prior to the leaks

Yeah. I was just worried that this was a new film idea they added, if they were feeling confident to start a new film that recently, that would've worried me about the chances of the deal actually happening. Seeing that it's still the same schedule that the leaks have shown them admitting how much they've ****ed up on, puts me at ease of the deal still going through.

Yeah I'm sure it's just the female Spin-Off, but the fact that they just titled it "Spider-Man" worried me. But still all that was back in November so I'm sure things have changed since then.

The initial talks apparently fell through back in October, so this was probably the schedule they secured after that. There's way too many stories saying the same thing about the renegotiations for me not to believe they're on the table, plus the Spidey Summit was also a part of the leaks. I wouldn't worry about it.

"Girl team up" was also listed, so that's likely the female team-up movie.

What Spidey-related rumors haven't turned out to be true in recent years? Like gigantic ones reported by multiple sources? I can't think of any significant examples.

They were probably internally referring to the female project as simply "Spider-Man" because "Glass Ceiling" and "Untitled Female Team Up Movie" are really freaking stupid titles.

Edit: Or it could have been Venom, which was also supposed to release in 2017. Maybe theycould have called it Spider-Man:Venom:Carnage. :o

More from the Reddit user:

Sony will retain marketing and distribution rights, along with a share of the profit made from merchandise and ticket sales.
Marvel will also get a share of said merchandise and ticket sales, along with creative control.
Ansel Elgort is also being heavily considered.
They already have a new trilogy laid out, starting with a fresh villain we've never seen before, someone like Mysterio.
And then somewhere down the line, they're thinking about implementing 'Kraven's Last Hunt' story arch.
