At it's current trajectory, it's 6 day gross should land it at around $133 million as long as it has a solid 25 to 30% bounce today. At this stage, it's too early to say how that will translate long term until we see the final numbers for this weekend. What IS relevant is how it does day to day next week and whether Ice Age 4 presents any serious competition the following weekend. After that all bets are off as Dark Knight Rises takes away a substantial amount of screens. So ASM's window to make serious money is NOW.

I think it'll make about 100m-110 in the opening 6 days

It's currently sitting at $74.6 million through Thursday. It would have to have a total collapse to only pull in another 25 to 30 million for the weekend. That would be an average of only $10 million or less a day. I don't see that happening. Word of mouth would have to be horrid to garner those numbers and even still the curious would venture in. I think somewhere between 55 to 60 million for the weekend is realistic based on the license draw alone.

BoxOfficeMojo says about $140m.

Dude the drop is horrible,No two ways about it
200M domestic and 400 million world wide looks realistic for me now, maybe less
So, it's going to make $140 this weekend, and then at best only make another $60 million after it's entire span in theaters is complete?

Well TDKR is going to take a huge chunk of TASM Domestic so i wouldn't say 200 million Domestic but now i think it can make 225 -250 domestic 300 would be tough

140million is pretty hard imo
It is dropping by 30% each day,you do the math

SM2 was released on a Wednesday, and dropped 40% on its Thursday. I guess that was also terrible.

Do you really think that it's going to drop 30% again today and tomorrow? It's officially the weekend.

Always amazes me that Sony release Spidey movies midweek.

It's a great way to make extra cash, especially around a Holiday. If they released this film on a Friday it would never make $140 in one weekend.

Following the TF trajectory its looking around $135 million for the 6 day total and $280 million finish.

All studios do this when they have the July 4th holiday, gives them a bigger piece of the pie.

300 is out of the question now. I thought it had a good chance opening to 35M. No way that will happen now. 250 is probably the max domestic. Internationally is a different story. Spidey is huge in Asia, and they don't really care about reboots or anything, they just want to see Spidey. I think 250 domestic, 450-500 WW.

Spidey 2 made $40 million on its opening day which was in the middle of the week like this release, but Spidey 2's opening is far more impressive because that was 8 years ago when ticket prices were lower and there was no 3D to account for.

This movie is unlikely to surpass the box office of any of the previous Spidey movies. I think it's a mix of three things. Firstly, it's a reboot which left some hesitant. Secondly, the last Spider-Man movie was terrible and the audience has had time to realize it. And lastly, TDKR is out in two weeks so this movie has a limited time to make its cash.

Domestically this film won't surpass SM3, at this point there's a good chance it won't even make $300 million.

Between 140-150 million by the end of the weekend I say. It should easily make $75 million over it's first three day weekend!

That would be true if it was released today but a good chunk of its demand has been burned. Unless it just takes a huge jump this weekend. Around $60 million for the weekend is more likely.

And considering the drops during the week I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up 55M. I think what we are seeing was the fan flood on opening day and now we are seeing the effects of the reboot wary.

today my theater was packed! :yay: and there were long lines for TASM so maybe can go up!

I think we're seeing the effects of people going back to work.

I went to an evening showing and noticed a lot of middle aged people there. Kids and basement dwellers don't have work to get back to besides trolling the web lol

Overall,I'd say about between 250-300 million for it's final box office take. It's rather a shame that 99% of all movies these days make their money in the first week or two, then drop off considerably. People today have such short attention spans. :whatever:

Just left a packed sold out show so we'll see how it does this weekend

I think that has more to do with the market. Certainly during the summer. Because new big films are being released each week. The winter usually fares better with legs, look at Avatar!

Wasn't the budget for the movie $200 million?

At least they'll make a profit, but not more than what they spent making it. :/
