In Avengers, the perfect cameo would have been Garfield taking pictures of the actions and for all the fans sayings 'why isn't he changing costume to help the Avengers?' well, technically he hasn't become Spider-man yet.

That would of fit for 'The Avengers' but unless they add that to the DVD it's not happening.

Yeah, I mean it like this: take the final montage of civilians from The Avengers? Now, they're on the Daily Bugle channel. Simple, easy, unobtrusive way of saying, "This is the same universe."

Ah..

I dunno.. I would prefer to at least see Spider-Man on the news or something even if a character never even mentions him at all.

Show some Spider-Man merchandise in Times Square or something.

They are now reporting that it made 341.2M WW

For me, I at least want to see Spidey's suit (which would be a sure-fire confirmation of which Spider-Man universe it is).

You guys realize this is the lowest ever domestic opening ever for a Spider-Man movie right? And that's with raised ticket prices. In the same time five years ago, Spider-Man made $258 million.

Interesting how the conversation seems to be steering towards Spider-Man being loaned or inserted into the Avengers franchise to drive up the interest essentially.

Okay. We should care why? Sony is still making an ASM2.

i can see why,
SM1- new idea of a popular superhero goes to the big screen:yay:
SM2- Sequel to SM1 and it´s a great movie:woot:
SM3-sequel to one of the best comic book movies out there with one of the most popular villains
TASM-early reboot of a popular franchise that critics say is just the same and is another origin

Eh we'll see.

ASM2 or Sony letting Spider-Man team up with Avengers.

So it is the critics' fault the movie opened poorly domestically?

no, but i mean if people read is the same they would think is not worthy seeing it and they say is too early + opened on tuesday ,idk

Spider-Man 2 opened up midweek in 2004 but it still made $88 million seven years ago and that's without IMAX or 3D in 2004 or higher ticket prices to drive up box office.

I maintain my belief that doing another origin reboot was a terrible idea. Just should've recast everyone and vaguely connect it to the others. Maybe reboot some characters but that's about it.

For international business the numbers are good, but domestically the movie didn't open all that well considering its Spider-Man.

Though who knows it could fare better next weekend.

i think they couldn´t do it without the origin because they need to establish their universe imho + little kids

At least the origin is out the way now. Bring on the sequel. We can now just get on with things with Pete established as Spider-man.

How about Cap picking up a Daily Bugle newspaper and reading something about Spider-Man and then mentioning to whoever else is with him "Hey, how about this guy? He would be a good member."

Nope

'Good member' LOL
He can kick Cap Am's ass halfway across the world and back

exactly the origin is done, so now they can really show new stuff with the sequel!and more of the mystery about his parents

You mean the tons of those people that rejected this movie and saw Avengers instead?

And this is generally my problem with origin films how obligatory they are and they are basically done because they have to be to get everything done and out of the way. That to me is why this reboot idea was a failure and that is why the reboot did NOT perform that well this weekend.

The hype for Spidey 3 was 10 times more than TASM,even more than there is for TDKR now
