Great, great interviews! Andrew is so honest & such a fantastic fan of Spidey. So damn proud of him)

About the water scene shown in the trailer(wasn't shown at the screening)...wouldn't it be extremely difficult for Peter to maneuver underwater...and Lizard obviously has an advantage there.

Wondering how he'll get out of that situation...will the webshooters break from the water...wtf is going to happen there? Scary ****.

Andrew keeping his lips sealed about MJ and the Bugle pretty much means we WILL be seeing them in the future.

The part were the lizard jumps on spider-man into the water reminds me of that fight in the spider-man cartoon from the 90's!!

Well, the Bugle for sure since it is already being mentioned in this movie but we haven't really seen any proof of MJ though. It's entirely likely that she will be in this 'universe' but we'll have to wait.

I have somewhat of a big nitpick IF it turns out to be true:

Having a spider in a flashback scene.

If it turns out they're setting this to happen to Peter out of Destiny or some other Chosen One ********, I will be really pissed off.

The reason why I fear this is that they're setting up his parents to be working for OsCorp in a secret project along with Connors. If that project somehow ends up being Spider-related, it will just seem all too convenient.

Spider-man is about taking responsability and doing what's right with the gift that you received out of pure chaotic randomness. Having him being somewhat predestined to becoming Spider-man seems so lazy and dull to me when the comic book and Raimi model got it right in the first place...

Sure, tie up his parents with OsCorp but dont tie everything to it. So far we have:

The parents.
The villain.
The origin.

All tied to OsCorp. If you start tying the villain and the origin to his parents aswell it all becomes too easy and convenient to feel true. Tying lose ends with the same knot over and over deserves a big lazyness stamp from a writing perspective...

Anyway, end of speculation.

i think the Spider is part of the intro credits like Parents say bye , Peter sees the spider and the credits roll

**Question for Spiderman fans who are well versed with his comic book history**

I'm just curious, in the comics, is Spiderman always hated by large proportion of the NYC populace? Does he ever gain public favor eventually?

If so, throughout the course of this potential franchise, would you guys want to see Garfield's Peter eventually win the favor of the NYC populace..albeit, in a less corny fashion than what they did with SM3?

From watching the trailer, I would have never thought that he has a British accent.

It's normally split..there are people who love him and people who hate him..some think he's doing good others thing he should let the cops do their job and the reason all of this crap happens in nyc is because he is there. He's an avenger in the comics now, so he's definitely more loved and more respected but traditionally, he's an outcast. And personally, I'd rather they stick with the split reception he gets than an all out appreciation. I didn't like spider-man day or even the mere idea of it

Spidey never had it easy. I think if it wouldn't be for JJJ, just hating him for the hell of it and making him look bad in Newspapers, people would be more willing to give Spidey a chance.

Thanks for the info. Never knew that the character had it so rough with the populace in terms of his reception.

It's definitely a refreshing take on things when compared to Raimi's approach towards Peter's journey when we actually get to see Peter having to deal with actual negative criticism from the very people that he's trying to protect instead of just having them receive him so openly like in SM1, 2, and 3.

Hell, it'd make for one heck of a interesting story arc if we got to see in a more detailed fashion on how things would go about for Spiderman, if when he's actually getting some positive feedback, he screw it up during a story arc where he's possessed by the venom suit

Decided to share several panels from the comics (mostly Ultimate ones), that might've served as an influence to what we've seen in the second trailer + the 'Untold Story Begins Event' footage:

Yes. In the early books the public was largely untrusting of him due to the reports made by JJJ of him being a menace.

Over time, he did in fact become welcomed by the people, though he's still slandered by JJJ.

Wow..memories..it's been so long since I've read those early issues of USM..so so so long lol..you're making me feel old man. But those homages and allusions are done really well

Even after Spider-Man risked his life, to prevent the Daily Bugle from collapsing, you still have Jonah getting up in his face and asking the Cops to arrest him.

lol Jonah Jameson sure is persistent with his hatred for Spider-Man, even after being saved.

Yup. Is hard to think that the Ultimate books debuted over a decade ago.

SM2 had the funniest instance where he finally admitted he was a hero and then immediatly started criticizing him for stealing the suit.

LMAO almost forgot about. Perfect example of him quick to judge Spidey. :funny:

J.K. Simmon's facial expression in that scene was priceless. Went from being sad and apologetic, to anger and accusatory.

Simmons was awesome and sadly almost the only source of comic relief in the Movies. Whoever they get for the new Jonah in a sequel, I hope they won't make him funny.
