They look black, Troy, to me. They just look blue where the light hits.

They look black to me, too.

I'm glad to see that the trailer has gotten an almost universally positive reaction. :D

It looks good and I'm always open to a different interpretation of a character but the trailer didn't get me excited as everyone else and I used to love Spider-Man. Hopefully it turns out good and can rival the Raimi series that really kicked off the modern superhero film era after X-Men and Blade.

I know. I've been having a laugh though because the guys I've known as the biggest haters still refuse to see anything postive (Emo is still being thrown around).

Dude, just look at the halloween mask.

They are blue. I would have said they're definitely black too, but they're not. They have a blue tint.

EDIT:

Although, I have noticed that the blue lenses seem to be only on the mirrored lenses, the official/set pictures of Spidey with yellow lenses have Spidey with black lense frames.

so the lenes aren't gold they are just picking up the surround surfaces.
like the lenes are black when he's inside the cab

Thought I'd post it since I haven't seen it on here yet.

We've got us a legit Spider-Man folks. The thing about this trailer, for me, is that it didn't necessarily "wow" me, it just assured me that this film is doing Spidey right. It was really a surprise actually. I don't think any of us really knew what to expect since Sony has been so dry on the details. My two favorite parts so far were Spidey being unmasked by the police and retaliating and the shot of him sitting on the webs in the sewer. Just a real sweet shot in general.

I love the angle of Spider-Man on a mission. He has a well defined goal at the beginning of the film that drives him through the whole story. Uncle Ben's death is just going to help drive that further. I think it's neat that he actually seems to become Spidey before Ben dies as shown by the Stacey dinner conversation, but we really don't know to what extent. Is he full on costume or just the makeshift one? We know he makes his own kind of underground, viral campaign with the spidey symbols all over the city and I would think he would be doing that before he suits up in the red and blue.

There's a lot that's going to be explored in this movie from a lot of angles and that's exciting. Not to mention it's looking gorgeous. I saw one swinging shot that looked a little off, but not by much. The Lizard is looking very impressive. I like how well the Ditko version of the Lizard has translated to the screen. I never thought it would. I do have a worry about Lizzy. I hope he's not an evil genius as the Lizard. My preference is that there's a large disconnect between Connors and the Lizard, they're two completely separate people. This Connors seems to have a bit more of a devious side to him, but maybe he doesn't and that's just what the trailer was suggesting. I really don't know. I just know that my favorite Lizard moments are Connors struggling to keep the creature at bay and retain his own sanity, not a fully articulate Lizard building an evil ray gun. I have no worries about the movie being campy, but I've always seen the Lizard better portrayed as Jeckl/Hyde kind of thing.

Overall: This movie is the X-Men: First Class of 2012. I can already see it, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

the lenses are like a orange tinted mirror. inside the car its very dark so teh reflections are very dark.

what about the promo shots where the lenes are milky white?

No, no. There's clearly 2 sets of lenses being used. Non-reflective yellow mesh ones and the silver, mirrored ones.

I'm hoping for a movie running time of 2 1/2 hours :yay:

They've still got an off-white, yellow tinge to them, tbh.

I wonder if they'll actually explain why they change between silver and yellow... although after watching the trailer, the changes between the two didn't stand out as much as I thought they would.

Yeah, I knew he had the costume and such for a while before Ben died, but gaining his powers and going to catch baddies for the fun of it is a major departure from him as a character. Every hero has a legit reason for why they fight crime, and Ben's murder is Spidey's.

I'd have a hard time buying him doing so for no particular reason.

Uncle Ben does die. We saw the footage of him getting shot when it leaked months ago.

I loved everything about this trailer and I can't wait for this movie. I can't stand the Raimi movies so I've espeically been waiting for this. Everything about it looks fantastic. One thing I would like to point out as great is how huge the Lizard is compared to Spider-Man.

AHURHURHURHURHURHUR.

Like we haven't heard that joke a thousand times already.

That reminds me, I need to rewatch Super Mario Bros. I'm sure it's got some entertainment value whether it's intentional or unintentional.
