Anyone else think that the funeral at the end of the film is for Dr. Connors? I'm pretty sure I read that Denis Leary was signed on for the sequel. Just a thought.

Could be. It would explain why Gwen is not with her brothers standing over the grave of her father. Flash is also there so it may be a funeral for a teacher. I doubt Gwen and Flash are close friends so why would Flash be at Cap's funeral?

The only other thing that would contradict that is the fact that a bunch of cops are also there. So...who knows.

Did anyone feel the vibe that when Gwen Stacy said "Ohhh I'm in trouble" that was both a foreshadowing of her death and a nod or mock if you will to the prior Raimi verse of the girl always being, well, in trouble?

I did ;/

No, I took it as them USM-ifying Spider-Man a bit. I saw nothing that says that at all.

Looks good to me.. I hope this Spider-Man is a lot more talkative and jokey..

..Looks like Capt. Stacey is filling in the Jonah role as the main skeptic/establishment adversary of Spidey..

..I would have been fine with organic webs but the mechanical context here looks interesting.. hopefully there will be some other gadgets and spider-sense stunts as well..

... ultra-brief glimpses of new uncle ben/aunt may.. hope they get lots to do..

... still trying to wrap my head around some of the costume elements.. the boot-soles, in particular.. hmm..

.. hopefully the films have some easter eggs on future villains who haven't been used in previous films.. I'd still like to see Mysterio, Electro, Kraven..

The silver on the shoes don't really matter at all anymore. From everything you see in the trailer/ footage, they're not distracting in the slightest amount.

It was probably used out of context. She sounded like she was joking anyway. They're not gonna kill Gwen off this early. I have a good feeling they're waiting for ol' Norman to do it.

As for the trailer....It was fantastic! It blows the original trailer out of the water. & I honestly think it's better than the TDKR trailer. I might even like it more than the Avengers trailers (though I'm still more hyped for that movie).

This movie seems like it will be THE best Spider-Man movie & potentially one of the best comic book movies. Everything about it seems great. The tone, the action, the effects, the characters, the acting, everything! Also HOORAY for a wisecracking Spider-Man finally!

Lizard looks MUCH better in motion than he does as a toy/still image. But maybe that's because the toys/images have been sort of skinny, while Lizard looks humongous in the movie.

This trailer has definitely raised my hype for this movie. It's now replaced TDKR as my second most anticipated film of the year. Your move WB!

When Gwen said she was in trouble, she was most likely referencing the fact that she's dating Spider-man, the guy her father coincidently is trying to hunt down.

Likewise, when I saw the suit in action in the trailer, I could only focus on how great it looked.

yes they are. :whatever: are they cleats? cross-country shoes? something else?

I thought it was for Uncle Ben or it can be Capt. Stacey.

I admit I was an avid hater of the suit from seeing stills but in the trailer I already like it alot more than the Raimi suits, it looks fantastic in action.

Yeah, it looks great, but I still hope it evolves in sequels. Keep the material, webbing, symbols, but make it look like the classic costume. Which means a line around the waist and the lines removed from the side of the legs. And other minor detail changes.

the more i look at this trailer and see spider-man, the more i see live action gabrielle del otto-esque spider-man. which is great. i love every bit of it.

So what order do you guys think the battles with the Lizard will take place. Assuming we know them all so far, there's:

-The sewers
-Midtown Science High School
-Manhattan bridge
-Oscorp tower (Seems like this is the big climax from what we know)

And it's possible one or two of these might be part of the same larger action piece towards the later part of the film as Empire described Spidey chasing Lizard throughout the city.

I think the sewers could still be the first, and it leads to the bridge, or the other way around. But that would definitely be the first battle.

My guess...
High school, Bridge, Tower scene right before pursuing to the sewer.
