Yeah, it's Larocca. Now post your source, you stealing stealer. :cmad:

Oh, and here's something funny I thought of: what was May's hair color before it all went gray? Anyone wondering if something... weird... happens during "Back in Black" or "One More Day" that restores May to youthful vitality or something?

Dude, do not even go there.

Wow. I'm just going to disagree and leave it at that. Anytime a loved one's life is threatened, I'd consider that to be serious.
Serious, yes. Worth throwing away your morals for a guy like Peter? No. Especially not when he's been faced with similar problems before--Ben's death, MJ's alleged death, the possibility that Norman was hiding his baby when it turned out to be Aunt May, Ben Reilly's death, etc.--and gotten angry but retained his moral integrity.
Yeah, I see your point about MJ's lack of a real role. I do see Peter's reasoninh behind wanteing to keep her in the dark as far as what his plans are for the people responsible. If he told her, she'd stop him. He knows that, and he wants to kill Fisk (or at least scare the **** out of him).

But yeah, I wish she played a more proactive role doing...something.
Yeah, you'd think she'd know him well enough by now to know that he's hiding something, and you'd think she's smart enough to put two and two together and suspect he may be out for blood, and you'd think she would say something to try and dissuade him. But you'd be wrong on all accounts, according to JMS.
The movie costume. Seriously.
I'm not a big fan of having it become the comic costume myself, but it's not like the movie costume is drastically different from the comic one. Spider-Man's been shown in the comics with silvery tracing on his costumes before anyway. If the spider emblems changed--then I'd *****.
Dude, do not even go there.
You know Peter's gonna be mackin' on his aunt as Jackpot. He'll follow in the grand tradition of Oedipus and Marty McFly--mark my words. :D

Have you ever been in a situation like that? I'm guessing not. I can relate to Peter. It's something that overrides logic and reason. It's something you need to do. But in the very back of your mind, it's something you know that you won't do.

So it becomes therapeutic, in a way. Sometimes you just need an outlet for aggression. Fisk serves that purpose as good as any.

Now that, I'll agree 100% with.

Larocca seems dead set on "casting" his characters these days. I guess it makes sense that he's begun to cast the costumes, too.

That's heavy.

I haven't been in such a situation, but we've seen Peter in them on a lot of occasions. Different people deal with grief and the stress of losing a loved one in different ways, but we've seen how Peter deals with it a bunch of times already. This doesn't mesh too well with them unless, as you say, all this talk of killing people is just his means of therapy and he knows he won't really kill anyone. But we don't know that for certain, which brings us back to hoping that JMS is just having Peter talk a lot of trash and make empty threats, which is kind of a lame hope.

Well, that's how I interpret things. I actually had a conversation with a friend of mine not too long ago about what we do in a situation where we felt the need to avenge (or re-venge) something. In the case of the murder of a loved one, I know for certain I'd be driven to the brink of madness. I don't think, however that I'd be able to do it. I think in that instant before you actually go through with it, logic and reason give you a swift kick and put things into perspective. If there's anything worse than losing a loved one, it's losing yourself. I don't think I could damn my own soul like that. And I read the issue as Peter going through and feeling the same way.

Whew...so yeah...Spider-Man...

I hope JMS has it play out that way. The way I read it, Peter went to kill Fisk and then realized how much sweeter it would be to just humiliate him--just like a knuckle-dragging bully.

Oh yeah, there's certainly a lot of satisfaction in humiliation, too. But I see that as completely justified.

Bachalo I am sort of anticipating, those little snippets shown on IGN looked good.:csad: I think he's much more suited for Spidey than the X-Men, but let's face it, I know his panels are going to get way too busy and Bachalo-ish.

Jimenez I'm not too crazy about, really. He's so 80s to my eye:o

Larocca's s**t looks lame, movie suit spidey, down to the plastic jawline and molded boots.

Can't believe I'm most looking forward to Bachalo.:csad:

As for writers, eff Dan Slott. That's all I know so far.

Jimenez I'm not crazy about for Spider-Man because he tends to sacrifice action for details. His Spider-Man was really stiff in the FCBD issue.
Corp, this was on Newsarama, yesterday.
I know, but others might not. I believe anytime you post something from another site, you should cite the source. It's just good forum etiquette.

All right, I'm not gonna go all SIAT over it.

See what I did there? :)

I've always dug Bachalo's Spidey. Jimenez is great, you hold your tongue. And I agree with you about Larocca; I am not into that ****.

Larocca's costume doesn't bother me at all. YAY!

Call me cynical on top of being a Spider-Man fan but there's two reasons for why will be getting Amazing Spider-Man three times a month: First, the obvious one is that Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Sensational Spider-Man have been in a sharp decline in terms of sales because more readers would rather buy Spidey's flagship title than two spin-offs, at least according to Marvel. Of course, the other two titles have been desperately trying to find their own style in comparison to ASM, plus ASM gets better press to begin with. But the other reason is that I believe that Marvel is really, REALLY worried about the aftermath of "One More Day" which is not only JMS last story on Spider-Man (hooray!) but it is also rumored that it's the story that will somehow dissolve Peter's marriage to Mary Jane. Having a writer who had given an, admittedly, much needed boost to the title AND getting rid of a pairing which, by now, is on the same level of Superman and Lois, will likely result in very big sales drops for Amazing. Changing Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Sensational into extra issues of Amazing Spider-Man could be a way of stemming off this potential sales drop. And with Amazing Spider-Man selling three times a month, you can be sure that Marvel, by totaling up the sales for that month, will proclaim Amazing Spider-Man "The number one comic book in America!"

So, I guess Marvel has officially revealed what happens to Mary Jane--she replaces the Black Cat as the superheroine who tempts the superhero! Of course, anyone who read the Free Comic Book Day by Dan Slott would've also learned this.

what? someone tell me whats goin on.. lol im so lost now :( i mean.. that wouldnt be sooo bad.

I wouldn't really say Peter and MJ are on the same level as Lois and Clark. There are still dinosaurs who think MJ is just a replacement for Gwen and that Peter never really loved MJ as much as he did Gwen. Mark Waid, for one.

It's a generational thing. I can understand growing up with Gwen and thinking less of MJ. Problem is, the overwhelming majority of comic readers grew up with MJ.

Ultimately, it doesn't really matter to me. I like MJ, but I read Spider-Man comics for Spider-Man. It's not like MJ's really had much to do in Spider-Man's comics lately anyway.

It depends. The best Spider-Man story I've read in the past two years had MJ as the star. I like her enough. Mostly, I'm just against the death of another one of Peter's loved ones.

What, that Sensational annual?

And yeah, deaths of Peter's loved ones are getting tiresome. It seems the new mantra is, when in doubt, take away another member of Peter's supporting cast.

I really hope whoever the new writers are have more of a mind for building Peter's supporting cast. JMS kept introducing elements that would make for interesting new people in Peter's lives, then dropping them before he introduced any such people and going back to just Peter, MJ, and May.
