You know whats funny I remember think tjis very same thing at the end of Spider-man 2 when him and Mary Jane get back together get back together then they cut to the Harry scene.I felt it was unnecessary or at least for the most part the scenes could have been switched.
I remember that, but this was death in question, more important than Harry being in prison and plotting his revenge. uh, gets me mad ...

I loved this, I really did. Thinking 8.5 or 9/10. Wasn't perfect but absolutely worth the price of admission and will watch it a few times on DVD and Sky I should think.

A few thoughts. I never once during the whole film wanted Electro to lose. Maybe that makes me a bit odd but they really endeared him to me and I was hoping for some sort of redemption at the end.

The first meeting between Electro and Spiderman where he was hearing the voices was amazing.

The Goblin could have just decimated Spiderman and left in my opinion. He'd just been through a huge fight, was exhausted and yet still he "wins" the fight against his biggest nemesis pretty much. I would have preferred them to build up Harry as a bigger threat for the next movie.

Loved how Gwens speech at the start of the movie was so strong at the end.

Overall, I was really satisfied with TASM2. I think I preferred the first one more but my expectations were much lower for that.

Looking forward to the next one.

It's fine to make Spidey a little sarcastic — he is a teenager, after all — but his constant jokes in the midst of life-and-death pursuits are simply silly...

He obviously has no knowledge about the character of Spider-Man based on this comment.

My little brother thought it was too much too. Then again he's not a Spidey fan. My older either suggested that maybe it's because people are used to Raimi Spidey? I had absolutely no problem with Spidey's attitude in this one. Found it to be perfect actually.

Oh, he's not much of a Spidey guy like us, he just watched every Spidey film so far. He thought it was really good ha.

Oh.

Well, good to hear he likes it, tho. :)

My dad didn't really seem to understand much of what was going on. My mom did like the movie, but thought there was too much Electro and too little Harry.

But one of my friends thought it was the best Spider-Man movie, so far. :wow:

I know some people who saw the film and all tell me that it gets better after the 2nd and 3rd viewings. I think everyone here should give follow-up reviews for their 2nd viewings and talk about whether or not their opinions changed.

I thought Electro and Harry was very well balanced. We got enough of both of them. And I too believe it's the best Spidey film so far.

Need.

Now this is not my full elaborate review, that may take a second viewing. So here are my thoughts in what I think will be easiest in a pros and cons form :

Pros :
• This 2 hr and 20 min story is a Spider-Man story. They captured that essence of a Spider-Man story. One you would read in any Spidey book.

• Each aspect of the movie brings out really cool things for themselves.
(Electro was badass. He develops over the course of the movie and I found him to be really powerful. Or capable of being really powerful. I thought they captured the essence of Electro. Inferiority complex and all.)
(Harry Osborn is everything I wanted him to be. Dane kills it. He really really kills it. I was taken aback by his performance. Especially leading into the third act. The whole Osborn angle I thought was so perfect. The way they spun Norman and the family name.)
(The visuals are absolutely outstanding. Needs to be seen in 3D. It's the only way.)
(I don't think the score resonated with me the say way MOS's score did, but I was listening out for it when I could and loved it.)
(Most importantly, Spider-Man : his humor, his agility, it's all there. His suit is it. Spider-Man is it in this one.)

Cons :

• Lots of things going on, so a bit sloppy. (Need a second viewing to take it all in.)
• Final battle plot felt a bit rushed.

That's about as much as I can squeeze out of my brain right now. My mind is racing. There's such cool stuff in this movie, I can go on and on. I can't believe I gotta wait four days to see it again! Haha.

I know this may not be a clear picture or representation, but it's the best I can do as of tonight lol.

8/10

Nice quick review. There are lots of things you seem to love about this movie and of course you still address the few gripes with the film. Sounds like a solid 8/10 to me. Though I look forward to hearing your thoughts after the second viewing.

All due respect, no money in the world is gonna convince me to watch this trainwreck a second time :whatever: Too many cringe worthy scenes at least for my taste.

Best to forget it ever happened IMO and wait for them to get a decent script for the Sinister Six movie which does sound like it could be kinda great if done right.

--EDIT---

Although to be fair this is the best looking 3D IMAX movie I've seen. They really went all out with the 3D shots...

Are you rolling your eyes at me?

"With all due respect" came off as a bit rude to be honest.

"We have to be greater than what we suffer." I really love that line. That kinda sums up the existence of Spider-Man in just a few short words.
My thoughts exactly. Spider-Man's existence is all about guilt and responsibility. And that quote nails it.

The movie that really improved on my second viewing was MoS. On first viewing I cam out hating that movie. My second viewing brought home how much I enjoyed the first half of the movie and that I was dumping on the enitire movie because of the 3rd act which is terrible (imho).

I've seen ASM2 3 times now and enjoyed it each time.

"We have to be greater than what we suffer". Wow, that's an awesome theme for a Spidey movie. Gonna watch it in 20 hours, I have a good feeling about this movie.

To be fair though, Curt Connors said it first in a deleted scene, but I'm glad they saved it for Gwen now.

I think its a good sign when movies improve on second and third viewings especially when people notice something they did not in the first viewing. I certainly enjoyed the movie more the second time round and plan on seeing it again before it leaves the cinema. I still haven't seen it in 3D. Maybe I will give it a go.

Didn't you dislike the movie at first Bullseye? Or am I thinking of someone else?

For the record I didn't enjoy WS as much on the second viewing.
Maybe because the movie hangs on the strength of its plot.
A lot of ASM2 is about the visuals and the characters so I enjoyed it just as much as my first viewing. I can see myself watching movie over and over again on BR and my Iphone.

"A good time, no alcohol required." Apparently Jahns liked the first one more...

I saw that. Not even a check it out on blu ray. The review was harsh in harsh in the extreme. Chris Stuckman's review was more fair.

Chris gave the first movie a B+, I think, yet he gives ASM2 a B-, and still calls it better than ASM? I'm confused.

There is a difference between acknowledging a movie is better but enjoying someone more. So maybe he enjoyed ASM2 more but thought ASM1 is a better movie.

An example for me is Alien and Aliens. I acknowledge Alien is a better movie but enjoy Aliens more.
