The Avengers The Anti-"Ultimates=Perfect Avengers movie" discussion thread

but personalities and looks are everything.. or is there something else ?

Personalities are by far what I consider to be the most important piece of adapting material. And this is why I think that a mix of the Ultimates and 616 can work, because, for the most part the characters are the same in terms of personality. The bigger exceptions being Betty and Hulk--but since personality wise, they've been portrayed the way their 616 counterparts are in terms of characterization, that should be fine.

What the Ultimates did was set up a more cinematic way of showing the Avengers to come together, the formation of the team, the trials of all those personalities stuck together...ect, and did it in a more...realistic way I guess I would put it. I know I would definitely like to see an adaptation of the first two Volumes of the Ultimates, with a heavy influence from 616 of course.

After Hulk/Bruce Banner was defeated. Captain America kicked him in the face after Banner was already beaten. Not really something Cap would do. He also rebounded with Jan after Hank beat her half to death and fed her to some ants.

Thor should look Ultimate though, he'll look ******ed in his popular 616 costume on screen.

Ugh, no thanks. I don't want Thor just looking like some generic strongman. He needs his cape, and his helmet, the classic, iconic look. And Coipel's recent redesign of his costume - giving it more of a Nordic, chainmail-based look - wouldn't look stupid on screen.
