Hello Rez. I think you make a lot of interesting and well thought out points. Perhaps you should get a job in Hollywoodland, USA, because the major film studios obviously need slavering fan-boys like ourselves to tell them how to run their businesses. Kudos sir, kudos to you.

"Deep"? The Ulimates are incredibly shallow characters, each and every one, mostly built around a single character trait amped up to extreme levels.

I think some find them "deeper" simply b/c they're more gritty. Everything doesn't have to be gritty to be believable. Me-I prefer a proud, noble, heroic Captain America who doesn't find it necessary to badmouth another country in order to make a point. A regal Thor who's not a drunken, tree-hugging hippie. I could go down the list but bottom line, the 616 Avengers are the real deal & are far more deserving of the big screen.
