It'll get them a bigger 1st week box office no matter what.....and it'll get a lot of kids just out of school to the theater earlier.....so I don't think it will have any major drawbacks.

Good point. I didn't think about the youngsters. I think that is what every studio is going for. The huge 1st week, X-Men case in point.

But SR has an edge that X3 didnt. SR is 100 % HIGHLY MARKATBLE to KIDS & SR is more of a Kids thing then X3. Heck you got all the Toy Stores & just about EVERY SINGLE STORE THAT HAS TO DEAL WITH KIDS out there advertising SR in some way. Kids will definitely help make this Movie a success. Something X3 never had & this is something "Cars" has

I heard nothing but bad things about X3 and I still went and seen it..if I hear bad things about SR I will still go and see it also...I will hopefully be able to catch it at 10pm on the 27th.

Unfortunately I will be on a plane flying to Charlotte as the movie hits but I will be coming back to Boston the next day so I will catch it that weekend.

I agree about SR being more of a kids movie..but I wonder if that might hurt how it does at the Box Office.....since at most theaters kids 12 and under get in cheaper then adults.

i wonder will the kids get restless with a 2 hours 30 runtime

I agree, it will have a better opportunity than X-Men but it is following a similar formula with a big bang at the beginning.

Never thought of that, but that means they are bringing parents or siblings with them.

Good point hunter...I got restless at Kong and I'm no kid...well chronologically I'm not.

Always a possibility. I wanted to take my 3 year old nephew to be, my girlfriend laughed at me and told me he was to young to go to the movies. He loves Superman, I bought him the Superman Returns Sound Book for his birthday. Everybody gets jealous because we have a connection because of Superman. Heh Heh.

I haven't seen Kong or X3 yet. I am behind.:O

oh my stars and garters

lovely sweet perfect kids will be crying and screaming if something doesn't blow up... blah... I'll try to get a late showing...

I will probably see a matinee and be stuck with the youngsters...but the theater has digital screens so that is good.

After all the discussion and argument over the suit, how do you feel now after seeing high quality photos and footage? Did you change your mind either way or have the same feelings?

my initial reaction was that i didn't like the suit because of the high neckline...but soon after i started getting into graphic design and what not so i started to see why the person who design the suit made the suit the way it is. suffice to say, if i were in charge of the suit for the next film, i wouldn't make many changes. widen the neckline a lil, bring the belt up a tad, and we'd be good to go...

Most people who get upset about GAM are the ones who were not invited to join.

as for civilty.. unfortunatly is does not work.. nice idea C lee and showey.. but once again this thread has prooved that "certain people" cant do it. these people are the hippocrits.

My nephews and Neice didn't seem to have a problem with Batman Begins and Pirates of the Caribbean's running times.

Actually, if you read through the whole thread there was some nice progress made touching on similar subjects we all enjoy. Things will never be perfect but there is always hope for the better.

I didn't like the belt logo and the idea of no logo on the cape. I didn't understand that concept until researching that the belt logo has been done and of course the no \S/ on the cape has as well.

well i had a slight problem with the "S" not being on the back and the "S" on the belt too. the "S" on the back i don't mind so much because, in a way, it IS kinda tacky. the "S" on the belt is kinda weird...but i understand why. Superman from the comics and the other movies has an oval on the belt......what for? hehe, it doesn't really represent anything, it's just a random shape thrown on for a belt buckle. but i wouldn't have put the "S" on it. i like most of the manips where the belt just has a blank shield.

I actually like the \S/ on the shield now but I guess I would rather have seen the \S/ on the cape then on the boots. I dont really get that.

I still feel that the suit can go through minor improvements like the neckline and the hue of red that they used (if they could change it to the colour they use in the posters), and other bits similar to what DorkyFresh pointed out.

Oh and the S on the Cape instead of the belt & boots would be cool. I know people keep saying "TAS didn't have an S on the cape" but the only reason was because it would be too hard to animate while in motion - this was stated on the DVD in the features...

Routh's Clark & voice seem perfect - maybe he can do something about the hair though.

One gripe (not something that will hold me back from the movie BTW) is why they chose to do a vague sequel instead of restarting like Batman Begins - especially now that Supes does look younger (than Reeve)

Nonetheless, I'm still looking forward to seeing it on the big-screen.
