The Art of Civility Revisited

Nope...guy goes 5400 posts without ****ing up, he should atleast get a warning.

I love it when people here make a protest over things they don't have single bit of knowlege about.

Than maybe we should all be informed

Oh Excel. Once again you have no clue what you are talking about...you think this was the first time Jerry messed up? :whatever:

*See Above

Psh, if what Hunter said true, which Im sure it it is, then nvm. Jerry was always down when I posted with him though, hence why I asked; same goes for Robo. I didnt know about the situation hence why I mentioned it...if what they did was wrong than I guess they deserved it

We really can't comment on every banning because of the circumstances that surround said bannings.

It is. You've known Hunter, C. Lee, and I long enough on the boards to realize that us and the other Mods would always use good judgement in any banning. :cwink:

I was able to figure out what happened instantly in my case, but instead of mods (with the exception of Hunter in my case) actually looking into the matter, some mods just make knee jerk reactions to things. I wouldn't call that good judgment. Or maybe it's because we have more mods than we can count and not all of them are on the same page. I don't know. Whatever it is, something has to change.

i wonder which one you were in your previous life.

I think we should just get rid of all the posters. :woot:

Well my hope is that "all" have learned from this, and plan to have "good judgment" in the future.....yourself included.

Things that are out of my control I can do nothing about but rely on the mods judgment. Thankfully, the right decision was made at the end.

Here is the thing Jerry, I see someone that has had multiple chances here at the hype.....and I'm fine with chances, as long as they are equalled with good judgment from the recepient of those chances.....but all I see here is someong griping about a situation, that was a mistake on BOTH SIDES, yours in not realizing you still had the same avvy, and on the side of the mods involved that did not realize, you had not made the same realization.......I see that the mods in question, HAVE IN FACT learned a lesson......have you?

Was I supposed to assume that my old avatar had for some reason come back on? I wasn't told about that, nobody warned me that could happen when the probation expired. I hold no fault in that incident. I was just sticking up for myself when people were saying I was putting up "anti semitic" images, when I wasn't.

Understood Jerry.....totally............but this isn't the one and only time to learn something.

The avvy should never have existed, however we should have manually removed before your profile probation b/c even though sometimes the profile probation deletes the avvy, other times it doesn't and in this instance it didn't and you were unfairly banned. You brought the situation to us and it was rectified and you got unbanned and full privileges restored. It was an honest error and all worked out in the end.

I don't like to create new threads, its not my style. Probably, because I fear people will criticize my English or because I think they won't be important enough. But it really makes me sad to see all this divisions in regards to SR and now MOS. People have all the right to like whatever they like, but I think sometimes we have crossed the line ( yes, including me, a lot of times ) and we have been very aggressive or can't respect others opinion.

We have lots of examples of different attacks: If you like SR you are not a true Superman fan, you didn't like SR because you didn't understand it, you liked SR because it was the first Superman in a long time and you were desperate to see it on the big screen, and so on.

One thing, I think we all can agree about, is that we all are Superman fans and love the character. At least for me, he is like a role model sometimes, to try to do the right thing and help people if its on my possibilities. When I'm sad and depressed I sit down on my couch and watch some of the old or new movies to cheer me up. Superman is bigger than all the movies, TV shows, or even the comic books, he is an example of the way we should try to be.

From now on, I'll try to more tolerant and be more respectful with all the people on the Superman boards, hope you guys can agree with me.

Now, here's a video I just found, that I'm sure most people will like, because we all love Superman, the world's greatest hero.

Careful, you'll incite mego joe to write about Superman's morality yet again.

In all seriousness, I agree... We all go a little overboard when discussing characters we feel strongly about (in this case, Superman) so we tend to be a little harsh on people we disagree with ...

But, you know, SR is over. Done. We all need to move on. Thing is, I know that if someone starts lambasting the movie here I will feel compelled to respond to that person and the arguing starts, and the cycle continues. All discussion about SR should stay on the SR forum, really... And it makes sense that there is some SR discussion here since MOS would be a continuation of that story... But the MOS forums should be mainly about stuff like "where can the story can go from here?" and "Who will the villain be?" rather than what SR did or didn't do for you.

Superman haters need to move on. It's over. This is 2008 now.

Guess they don't accept, like Buggs and phil. They are both jokes.

I agree but there never seems to be any new posting on the SR. On like other broads there still is no official word if a sequel to that movie will be made. Which if one happens kind of ties into this board, at least on the sequel part, but I will direct my hatred to SR and not to what they may or may not have to do with the sequel as long as people don’t post things like the sequel with Singers is going to happen because it was such a hit.

No, this is to Superman prime don’t call people who love the character but not SR a joke. What is the point you are trying to make? If you like the movie so much watch it. But why most YOU call people a JOKE. It is like when the Guard said people on this board who did not like SR should be shot

I thought it was good. A for effort.

I don't think there are any Superman haters on this board. It's just that everyone doesn't agree on SR and we wan the next SUperman film to be the best it can possibly be.

Thanks for the YouTube link nintendo nerd.

Always appreciate any Superman efforts that acknowledge the George Reeves TV series. IMO his portrayal of both Superman and Clark Kent is the best to date.

You are of course correct, many times the posts become cut fights. We should all practice respect for our fellow Superman fans when discussing differences of opinion.

That was awful.

Can you explain what was awful, please?

I thought it was good. A for effort.

Was he talking about the video? I'm lost.

This is the reason the Nintendo created this thread, thank you for posting an example of what we are trying to avoid. If "haters" need to move on then so do "lovers" right?

Enough trash talking. Thanks for your cooperation.
