Is there no mention of disease in the Bible prior to Exodus?

Not that it matters, but it amuses me when Christians get their own book wrong.

I'm not sure what you are saying there. Original sin and Noah's ark happen in the first half of genesis, and most Christians know this.

Well to be fair if you think of it like insects breeding due to changed land conditions and far more water around than before, like a massive influx of mosquitoes and other pests, then it is plausible that disease would be far more rampant than previous.

According to Ken Ham:

After the Flood, around 4,300 years ago, the remnant of the land animals, including dinosaurs, came off the Ark and lived in the present world, along with people. Because of sin, the judgments of the Curse and the Flood have greatly changed earth. Post-Flood climatic change, lack of food, disease, and man’s activities caused many types of animals to become extinct. The dinosaurs, like many other creatures, died out.

So he is saying that extinction can happen.....extinction, one of the major pieces of evolutionary theory.

Hm.

The quote suggests that disease came after the flood, and the first reference to disease I can find in the KJV comes in Exodus. I was wondering where there were any references prior to the flood, as that would render the quote nonsensical even on its own terms.

As an atheist, if you post in the Jesus Christ thread, the Christians call you a troll or a whiner and tell you to leave the thread.

If a Christian posts in the Atheist thread and atheists tell them to leave, they're called close minded and rude.

Ah, double standards.

Well, the Jesus Christ thread is called “appreciation” - so I can understand why the participants and the mods would want to keep the critical analysis to a minimum (technically, it’s off topic). Speaking for myself, I welcome any and all believers to this atheism thread. :word:

The early human footprints? Angels.

So how about that find in England?

It is odd to see reports that the find negates the "out of Africa" theory when its been known for a long time that one or more human species, Homo Erectus certainly left Africa and spread out into Europe and Asia before Homo Sapiens did. The whole thing about the "out of Africa" hypothesis is that it occurred multiple times.

Hey everyone,

I dont know how many of you are familiar with JaclynGlenn's YouTube channel but she just uploaded a video called 150 Messages to Creationists. I would link it but one of the people used a naughty word.

I'm one of the submitters. :o

I'm quite partial to satin. It's soft to snuggle against.

Is anyone else annoyed that some posters here turn every thread into a religious discussion?

It is annoying, but only slightly more so than threads being turned into race/gender discussions, which happened unrelentingly.

The race ones do get pretty heated...

We're a diverse group of Hypesters :funny:

Public restrooms are dirty... because society is godless??

I don't even know who's trolling and who isn't any more.

Generally, if it sounds too stupid to be true, it probably is.

Our society is one giant troll.

I expect your average medieval peasant had a greater sense of faith and a weaker sense of hygiene than your modern man.

The anti-religion, UK thought-police strike again. With the POSSIBLE exception of vandalizing some paid public advertisements (e.g., billboards), which already had ordinances against such vandalism that he could have been charged with, this guy was NOT breaking ANY LAWS!

Oh wait, he is/was a religious zealot, and since being a religious zealot was NOT against the law in the UK, the anti-religion, UK thought-police had to actually INVENT a law (i.e., create new legislation) so as to be able to "legally" charge this guy with something.

I cannot wait to see what comes next from a nation that literally already has more security cameras than citizens subjects within its borders? Hey, maybe they'll make posting opposing views on the internet thread such as this one against the law...

BRB, someone is pounding on the door... I wonder whom?
Alert the presses, because - hyperbole aside - I actually agree with PW.

PW, this is a thread for Atheists and you clearly aren't one. You get mad at atheists for posting in the Jesus Christ thread and then you come into here and post. Do yourself a favor and just stay away from this thread.
