Children's TV classic The Banana Splits is getting a modern makeover.

Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper and Snorky are to star in new comedy shorts and music videos on the Cartoon Network in the US, and its website, from September. A series of DVDs, live concerts, music CDs, and online games from the anarchic crew are expected to follow. "Everything that made The Banana Splits popular in the '60s is back, including the group's terrific humour and music," said Jordan Sollitto, of Warner Bros. "We take great pride in having carefully updated the look and feel of the original show for today's kids while retaining all of the elements that made the original Banana Splits such a hit."

****ing Awesome...

I f-ing loved watching them on CN back in the 90's.

This is nice save for the 'updated' part.

I just want 60's Banana Splits.

Tra la la, la LA LA LA...tra la la....one banana two banana...

*smacks immortalfire* Lazy varmint! TV forum thataway! :p

Still have a Fleegle Halloween costume and I hope we finally see the release of DVD of the old show. Grew up watching them :D

This is bigger than the TV forums, if Elvis came back to life and decided to star in the next Batman Movie as Penguin you wouldnt move it to TV, this is bigger.

Beg to differ, and it's moved :p

What?!? This is insane!!! Any pics yet?

How in the WORLD did they get Hanna-Barbera to agree to this??? An R-rated blood-soaked horror movie based on their characters? Wow...

No way, this can't possibly the first of its kind as a live-action thing.
