In terms of the costume. i think it would be good if it just started off as a plain red suit with no logo or yellow.

Then after Flash's first outing, a character (Linda or Iris) comments that it could use a little more 'flash'. Leading Barry to add the lightning elements and the logo. it would be cool if he looked to Superman's suit for inspration and this was directly referenced.

As for the ears. I like the idea that they're a head phone/ diffuser that helps to stabalise the vibrations on his head when running. You could have him run the first times and get a headache due to the stress of the vibrations on his head. Also they can have built in earpieces so he can hear when running faster than sound.

I always envisioned them as conductors. When Barry runs he spits off electricity and shocks things and people. Like when he firsts gets his powers and runs, the people say there was this huge lightning ball flying down the street and people got hurt. So in order to control this his has metal parts all over the suit (the gold parts) that draw the electricity in and control it rather than letting it burst out.

You could actually play with that idea and have him discharge the static electricity in bursts as an offensive measure.

Ok. Only if Aaron Paul isn't interested in Flash.

I don't get the love for Aaron Paul. I mean sure he was good in Breaking Bad, but as the Flash? No thanks.

Okay please don't shoot me down when I say this, but just to go out of left field, I think Justin Timberlake would make an interesting Barry. I know you all may not like this, but he's proven to be versatile in his roles where he can be comedic and serious simultaneously. He also worked with Affleck before so that's a plus.

Hypothetically speaking, if he was cast as the Flash, would it be quite controversial comparing to the announcement of Ben Affleck being Batman?

Dude, today I was literally thinking "JT would make a good Flash" while listening to his music. No bull.

But still Aaron Paul's my first pick.

Evan Peters was my absolute choice for The Flash.

I've always imagine Barry as a very intelligent, articulate, mature, confident and optimistic guy in his mid 20s. I wanted his actor to look relatable, charming, light-hearted and yet very sloppy, awkward and disoriented. And that's exactly how Evan Peters looks ! Plus, he's a good actor, he has improved himself over the years and thanks to American Horror Story, he has a lot of fangirls and fanboys. But since he was cast as Quicksilver (the irony...) for what will probably be a brief and useless apperance, I guess it will never happened.

I'm pissed. Anyway.

I'm such a big fan of Aaron Paul. He is a phenomenal actor and I hope he becomes a big movie star in the near future. I can't quite picture him as Barry or any other superheroes, but I would be so happy if he was cast... even though he's 5' 8"... and older than Cavill...!

Ryan Gosling would make me happy too (even though I want Barry to be the younger member of the JLA), but he takes his career way too seriously. He'll probably never portray a superhero in a multi movie franchise. Let's move on...

To me, Sam Claflin PHYSICALLY looks like a pretentious prick full of himself. But he's a good actor, he is a young rising star, he looks the part and he could give some edge to Barry, or ruin the character by making him look like a *****ebag, ala Andrew Garfield's Spidey :ninja:. His casting would be a good news imo.

HOWEVER. Even though I looooove Arrow and I really liked Gustin's performance, I absolutely don't want Arrow to be a part of the Man Of Steel Universe. It would be a dumb, lazy and cheap move for WB, IMO. I wouldn't mind if Arrow was a HBO/Showtime/FX/AMC type of show with a bigger budget, an impressive artistic direction and a more prestigious cast. But it's not, AT ALL. Arrow is a CW-show, with serviceable actors and a cheap budget. It's AMAZING for what it is, but it does not belong to the big screen.

A lot of people think that having two Barry Allen at the same time would be confusing. But for who ? The majority of the general audience have probably never seen a single episode of Arrow and a lot of them probably never heard of it. They will be just fine !

Anyway, don't to be too harsh on me, it's mt first message ! Also, I'm a french guy so please excuse my english !

Claflin looking arrogant would work well for Flash though.

Sam Claflin would be a pretty legit choice. When I first saw him on Catching Fire, I thought he looked like Aquaman to me, but I'm actually liking the idea of him being Barry and he's a rising actor so that's a plus.

I'll bet you a dollar that Barry - if it's Barry in the film - he'll be a combo of Barry and Wally. Guarantee.

Why? Barry is not arrogant at all.

I meant more the self assurred confidence that's associated with that look.

If we're being honest, most of the DC heroes would look like handsome jock dousches in real life.

It would be really weird and incredibly disrespectful to Grant Gustin if they suddenly cast someone else to play in the movies. He just received critical acclaim for his portrayal as Barry in Arrow and he's about to headline a whole series based on the Flash, casting someone else for the DCU movies would be like "huh?".

It's going to happen though. Tom Welling didn't complain and he played the character for ten seasons.

That was very different though. Smallville was about a young Clark before he put on the costume and became a superhero. The Flash series is going to be about Barry as the full-fledged Flash, costume and all fighting crime and his rogues. For all intents and purposes it'll be the same exact version of Flash on tv and in the movies being played by two actors. Unless, theyre going with Wally or something.
