Just curious, how tall is The Flash in the comics. Isn't he normally around the height of Superman and Batman? Because I personally wouldn't want someone that's shorter than Cavill (not that he's that short or anything). Yes, I know that they can make the person look taller with camera tricks and whatnot.

depends what "around the height" means. he's as tall as wonder woman. usually 5'11 6'0 feet tall.

Gyllenhaal is more GL material

so is pine. gosling is never going to happen. it's perfect casting but it'll never happen.

These have probably already been recommended, but for me these three are the ones I'd want for Flash/Barry Allen

Ryan Gosling

Chris Pine

Jake Gyllenhaal

Any of them would work, really. I've always thought the best way to go with Flash is either to just use Wally or to use Barry with some aspects of Wally's personality (make him a bit of a smarta** and a womanizer). For something like that, any of these guys would fit the bill.

Gosling like you said will never happen because he has started to become very picky with his roles. The same goes for Gyllenhaal however, although I don't think he's quite as bad, yet.

I would love for Pine to do it, but I highly doubt he would jump into another franchise, not because he can't be a superhero and Captain Kirk but because he would probably feel tied down. It's why most of these big time actors that everyone fan casts don't attempt the roles and the ones that do only stick around for one or two films.

One thing to keep in mind about Gosling is that he actually said in an interview that if they were making the Flash, he might be interested. It's not much, but it might be the one character that he'd want to play.

way back when ben got cast, THR reported that gosling was considered but disliked the idea of sequels. we always figured if there was a superhero he'd play, It'd be batman, but that didn't work out.

it'd be a fan casters dream come true. he's essentially what bale was to bats, i just don't think it's likely.

Yeah, I read that as well. But people can change their minds. It's possible that Batman might hold less appeal to Gosling since so many actors have played the role before and we just had a VERY successful trilogy of Batman movies.

perhaps. but I've found that he has a type. and batman is more inline with what he usually does which is why some of us figured as much. if he got cast as the flash it would be crazy though.

Yeah, he does seem drawn to darker characters. Although after the monumental disaster that was Only God Forgives, he should branch out a bit. What an unwatchable movie. I don't know how I made it all the way to the end of that garbage.

I'm not a big fan of Pine either. I don't know what is with him. It seems like he acts the same way in all of his films. He doesn't have that overall charisma that you would expect he should have.

Also, the contstant weird changing of his color from film to film is just weird to me. Not a big deal, but it's something that I notice.

Maybe in 3 years or something Pine will take his game to the next level. Right now, he is just overrated IMO.

I think Jake Gyllenhaal would be a solid choice as Barry Allen actually. He has the necessary range and I think he would be a great addition along side Cavill, Affleck and Gadot.

I might be in the minority, but my ideal flash would be Bradley Cooper. I would just love to see him interact with Henry and Ben on film.

I don't understand Pine and Gyllenhaal for Barry. Those two are both much better suited for Hal Jordan.

These are the reasons why I think Jake G would nail it as Barry Allen. He has the range necessary to bring those characteristics of Barry/Flash to life on the big screen.

I like all of the actors being listed here but like I said before, none of them will end up playing the part so I think we should start getting more creative with our casting ideas, myself included. We all know they'll end up pulling some random name out of a hat anyways that none of us saw coming, haha.
