The Batman General News & Discussion Thread - Part 2

Not trying to take anything away from the people that liked this clip but I'm not the biggest fan of it.

It felt like a MCU movie scene densined to get a cheap laugh out of the audience.

Would have been really cool to see him use a smoke bomb in this moment.

Also there seems to be zero of the tense and claustrophobic atomospher that this scene had in the teaser trailer.

This felt less "goofy" to me.

And more "forced".

Also after years of speculating on why the GCPD are chasing Batman and what leads to the wing sutie scene the answer is...

Is pretty anticlimactic to me.

lol you DO realise the scene you watch was cut up right?

I think people are really missing the point of the whole scene, and I get why. It's completely devoid of context. For me, I don't find it goofy at all, instead it's quite serious. Also, the scene preceding this moment seems to be when Batman leashes out at the cops and Gordon slams him into the railings, in the trailer, and the scene following is the wing suit scene. I'm pretty sure Batman is in conflict with the cops at this point and is protecting Gordon by making it appear as he is asulting him.

I don't get what people are saying about this clip. There is no jokes? Batman is discussing stuff with Gordon in front of the other cops and when he punches him, hes doing it on purpose so it doesn't look like the two of them are working together. Then he just runs away and grapples up? I'm not seeing any Adam West or MCU here...

Don't forget there's a moment where he's in the shadows, like Batfleck's first appearance, attacking someone. And the (apparently) 3rd act battle with some smoke fights. Bats here clearly wanted to be chased. But we need to see the entire scene to understand it better.

I also really enjoy how Greg/Matt frame close-ups on Pattinson. They rarely cut off the ears, from what we've seen.

My biggest gripe with Wally was so many close-up shots of Bale where the ears were cut off in the frame. Let those cowls get the spotlight, baby.

Damn, Elfmans theme fits too.

So is the grapple gun supposed to be connected to his belt via some type of cable? It just kinda pops into his hand as if he force pulled it.

...its like he has a small range/lightweight grapple and a long range/heavyweight grapple.

I wonder if he'll use the small one as a "weapon" to catch criminals running away... BTAS style.

i feel like the small one is for quick escapes/last resort type situations. and he also uses that when threatening Penguin. i remember when we were trying to figure out what was in his hand. now we know for sure.

The pace of TV spots/clips/soundtrack releases/ticket sales and press screenings has been stellar. If they can just bump up the social media embargo to next week and keep reviews until the 28th, I would honestly say WB has done everything they can to make this a big hit.
