Wouldnt necessary say "celebrated", it was Dark Humor more than anything.
Considering Tom King can openly talk about War Crimes and they often work with someone who drew Russian Nazi Propaganda...Firing her for this feels incredible political.

To no one's surprise. If you're gonna be a part of a well-known company, regardless of whoever finds and amplifies your comments, what you say is going to be put under a microscope. Better to say nothing, or at least not say anything online that you wouldn't say in person. For once, DC actually made a sensible decision.

Because I don't believe DC Comics saw comments like “Hope the bullet’s okay after touching Charlie Kirk” or "Thoughts and prayers, you Nazi B-" and thought 'Must be dark humor' and that it wouldn't hurt their brand. Though yes, that DC has not given much thought to what Tom King has said in the past is worth noting.

Unless stated otherwise, I expect it has less to do with the Kirk post and more the one earlier that same morning about her first issue.

I was very wrong about this comic after the previews and it deserves all this success easily.

Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum once again becomes the book of the month. I'm really loving the twisted Silver Age zaniness of the book. It strangely reminds me more of Alan Moore's Supreme. The Kryptonite Spectrum is a lot of fun, but doesn't feel superficial. There's a very subtle perverseness to the story that I find gives the proceedings some weight to it.

Wonder Woman. We're now past the two year mark and I'm feeling rather...whelmed. It's not bad. It's kind of good. But outside of a few high points (that giant punch-out in the National Mall, the Detective Chimp Columbo issue, and the two 2-parters with Superman and Batman), I find the whole run to just kind of...exist. It lacks the formalist bravado of King's Batman run, and the staying power. Granted, we're also only in the second major story arc of the run, which may or may not be an issue in and of itself, but I find this book sinking to the bottom of my reading pile and nothing since the Mouseman arc has done anything to really grab my attention.

Spurrier 's Flash run has concluded but even up through December, no long term creative team has been announced. That said, I'm excited for Waid and Christopher Cantwell team-up for the KO tie-ins (I'm not reading the main series though). I haven't read maybe the last 8 months of this book, buying it only as a courtesy to keep it going. The book needs a massive overhaul, needs to be treated like an A-List book with consistent A-List talent (the drop from Deodato to what we ended up with is so jarring it hurts) and smaller, shorter arcs.

Conan the Barbarian, also 2 years deep, remains consistently wonderful month in and month out.

Trinity #4 might be one of the best Alfred comics ever.

This year ends on a strange note, as Trinity ends in November. New Gods ends in November (this one stings considering this story moved like molasses for the last handful of issues). Batman: Dark Patterns ends in November. Kryptonite Spectrum ends in December. And quite frankly, there's nothing coming out to replace any of those books. Monsters and Savage Sword of Conan are bi-monthly. There is Liam Sharp's Spawn: The Dark Ages next month but that goes for 6 issues. But there's little else that's grabbing my attention.

Yeah I like Kings run for the most part but its very slow. But he has done more than some past writers so thats nice.

Trinity....I enjoy the character and the book but King needs to STOPPPPPPPP with the Batfam. It is downright ridiculous how much they play into WW and this book, esp this book.

Williamson had a Robin series a few years back which was incredible. Definitely one of the best books of the 2020’s.
And Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen have done two separate “Robin and Batman” 4-part minis. They are flat out amazing. Dustin Nguyen’s art is always an event.

Is there something else that I’m not aware of?

I've been out of the regularly collecting game for years. I was just throwing a question out at random. Which brings me to this...so there's no current Robin ongoing? So is it just Robin and Batman?

I'll check out the Williamson Robin you mentioned.

Yeah. There’s not a Robin ongoing currently. But I loved Williamson’s Robin. It introduced a character named Flatline, who I’d say is one of the best new characters in the past decade. Surprised that she hasn’t shown up anywhere else.

And by all means, pick up Lemire and Nguyen’s Robin and Batman. The first four issue mini featured Dick as Robin and the second mini was a Jason Todd story. Beautiful storytelling and stunning art. Nguyen’s watercolors are gorgeous.

I'll check out the Williamson Robin you mentioned.

The Last Robin run we had ended i think 2024 and focused on Damian.
Other than that, there is no Robin solo...but we have Batman and Robin and Batman and Robin Year one.
Batman and Robin is about Damian Wayne as Robin and Batman and Robin year one has Dick as Robin.
@Babillygunn already talked about Robin and Batman, which has imo more focus on Robin if that is what you want.
