I'm watching Kubrick's Killer's Kiss for the first time and I'm seeing a lot of The Batman's framing in it... never heard Fraser or Reeves mention that film on the tour, but it seems like it inspired them a little.

I don't know for sure, but I lean towards that The Batman will be fine universe wise. They're kind of stuck with it like Joker. I could see them letting Reeves finish out his movies then rebooting and bring him into their coalized DCU.

As a side note: I wouldn't overthink the Affleck Aquaman thing. I think he replaced Keaton because Flash now will take place after Aquaman.

Affleck will continue to make appearances in the DCEU and he would have featured heavily in Flash 2 since he Barry was supposed to go rescue him.

Who knows how the Miller situation has affected those plans though. Of course, they could always recast Flash and continue with the same plot for the sequel.

I don't even think the DCEU will even exist under Zaslov. You'll see the Aquaman and WW sequels because they're stuck with them like The Batman and Joker because they're popular, but I think Flash will just be rebooted and no more Cavill or Affleck.

Um....seen Bryan Singer directing anything lately? How's Kevin Spacey doing? Harvey Weinstein is rotting in jail.

The truth is, nobody in their right mind is going to want to work with somebody that unstable and all the baggage that would come with it, let alone they are likely to be facing some legal consequences for felonies.

The Flash movie is a weird anomaly because it's a situation where a studio has already staked hundreds of millions and dollars and the future of a valued franchise on it. I'm not saying it's right, but it's what (maybe?) makes the most sense for business. After that movie has run its course though, Ezra will be bad for business.

Yeah, Ezra's career is a wrap after this, regardless of what happens with Flash. My guess would probably be it just gets dumped on HBO Max. Too much investment in it in comparison to Batgirl to cancel and there's already been some marketing for it. It either gets dumped on there and never mentioned again or an ending is reshot to recast Barry

They can’t even promote The Flash because of Miller’s behavior. This is supposed to be DC big event kind of film with the multiverse, but they’re handcuffed from hyping it up because Miller keep getting arrested. It’s a PR nightmare for Zaslav. Slick move by announcing Joker casting news on the same day when Miller got charged with burglary.

Eh, I loath Ezra and as a queer person consider them to be a massive public embarrassment but not using their pronouns is a bit like using racial slurs about a person of colour who does something bad. It's just unnecessary. Not exactly the forum for this, and not trying to get on your case, its just worth considering.

Ezra will most likely get recast after Flash comes out. The Flash franchise can easily just continue with a new actor. They won't need to reboot unless the movie is awful and it massively underperforms.

So we'll keep seeing Aquaman, WW, Shazam and Black Adam. That's basically the main DCEU we already have. I think Affleck stays but Cavill is out. We know Zaslav wants to have his own MCU. I don't think he is going to be rebooting stuff right now.

While it's true that Affleck is not literally "out," it is fair to point out that so far he's been asked to come back in minor supporting roles and cameo appearances. A far cry from headlining a movie (or series of movies). He collects a paycheck for a day or two's worth of work doing the bare minimum with none of the burden. Seems an easy decision to me.

Affleck’s done dude. He doesn’t want to make blockbusters anymore. The Aquaman cameo was a favour. Ben’s Batman and the Snyderverse is dead under Zaslav. Pattinson is the Batman we gotta work with now.

If it’s true that Nolan suggested using his universe as part of Man of Steel’s, then I have no idea why they rebooted Batman. That would have been so much better received if JGL, Hathaway and Bale returned.

As a massive fan of TDK trilogy, that was a dream come true to me. But I'm glad Nolanverse is kept distant from the mess we have right now.
