How pathetic is that?Batman Returns would be 'R' rated by today's standards.

Based on what?
900 million-a billion. So, what are B.O. expectations form Matt Reeves' The Batman ? I'm asking this because when MoS was made, people (including then WB President Jeff Robinov) thought it should be making 1 billion, (which was ridiculous as the last movie Superman Returns was not received well) so same 1 billion for The Batman ?
What's the budget for this ? Personally speaking, I would rather not have high expectations, I would be happy with $600 mil. (assuming a budget of $150 mil.)900 million-a billion.
Tom Hiddleston did it to an extent before and he has been popular for that ever since. That would be corny. It’s for a film not a 90’s wrestling press conference.
That's just asking to be disappointed.900 million-a billion.
Wonder Woman and Aquaman also didn't have the benefit of a stronger cinematic universe to base their success, but each made 800m+. Batman is a bigger property than both. I could see the movie crossing 1b easily. A few things are assured of Batman that other properties don't have: previous 1b+ movies (TDK and TDKR. BvS fell so hard critically hence why it didn't reach 1b), bigger and better marketing, and name recognition. That's just asking to be disappointed.
IIRC the highest grossing reboot is Spider-Man Homecoming, at 880 million. And that's coming off a highly praised debut in Civil War, and the MCU branding.
This Batman has none of those residual goodwill to ride off on, and instead is following up three back-to-back-to-back critical failures of movies featuring Bats. If it crosses the 900 million mark, it'll be a result of a perfect storm of events and something that's truly novel within the genre. A la Joker.
But we'd be fortunate to get a solid entry with great foundations to work off of. Casino Royale was a resounding success and that "only" grossed just over 600 million.

I'd be willing to bet WB would be diaappointed if this doesn't get to a billion and ends up behind Joker.
Pattinson is also quite popular, though he is still generally perceived as the Twilight guy.
Yeah. I didn't say otherwise. That's not exactly the worst problem to have especially if it helps to further entice the female demographic.
I don't think so at all.Does anyone think that Colin Farrels character in Fantastic Beasts could be similar to his Penguin?
Could they halt production on this if the Coronavirus keeps spreading in the UK? They did it to MI 7 in Italy
